Case-ing Amy Wanford

This is week #4 of  CASE study celebrating it's 4th year Anniversary.

I chose a TOOT SWEET card from Amy Wanford for the challenge.

Here is her card.

I love the textured paste, drops of blue watercolor and the word bird with high gloss accents on Amy's card.

I used the Penny Black delicate wings, cut out  from this card, added high gloss by smooshing it with versamark and dipped it in Clear embossing powder, then heat set.
The Stencil Promenade is from Penny Black as well. I used some texture paste made from baby powder, white glue and water.
Tattered Angels' AQUAMARINE glimmer mist added the subtle blue shine that is difficult to capture in a photo.
The Black enamel dots were a  free-bie from SSS.
Doodle stitching has become a fun addition to my cards lately. The technique is actually called Thread Painting...amazing what a straight stitch can do!

I will also be linking up to the SSS Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Hope you all are having a Great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by,
LauraJane:)

One more for CASEstudy this week

Hello and good Tuesday to ya!
When I saw the card from Jocelyn Olson at CASE Study's 4th Anniversary Week #3, I knew it was  a starting point for a  Birthday card for my oldest daughter. Then Cristina Kowalczyk's card kept running through my head.
So I combined the two.

My inspiration:
The colors and lacy white of the cut flowers
are so appealing in Jocelyn's card
How COOL is this with the bike half way in the middle of the spine, from Cristina

I used PTI's ENJOY the RIDE for the focal point. Popped it in the middle of watercolor cardstock washed with KIO colors. Then I added bits and pieces from my scrap stash. Just a bit of stitching for the road, and finally, the sentiment with well wishes from the smallest workers. Pretty Pink Posh sequins are the perfect touch of magic!

CASE-ing 2

To say there were some great cards in CASE Study 4th Anniversary Week #3 blog hop is an understatement! I want to CASE ALL of them at some point in time, but for now I chose to CASE 2 cards from the hop.

the card from Tasnim Ahmed
 card from Julie Ebersole
I Loved the bold colorful flower on the black stripes on Tasnim's and the Black outlined flowers with speckles from Julie.
Put them together and what do you get?!

This was really too much fun! I used HENNAH ELEMENTS from Altenew. Clear Embossed a border on the black stripes. Stamped the large flower image on PTI's RUSTIC WHITE cardstock. Splattered some Mr. Huey's color mist. Stamped another image and leaves on more cardstock and colored it in with Momento markers, added highlights with COPIC opaque white. Then cut those out and popped them up on some thread as the style goes these days.

I tried to get a close - up of the copic opaque white highlights.  I used a #1 brush.

Here's one last look before you go. Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
LauraJane:)

Cutting Edge Blog Hop

Hello, my name is LauraJane:) and I'm a die-cut addict.
It's no secret that I love--ADORE using dies on my cards. As time goes by my eyesight dwindles and fussy cutting has become very difficult which makes me grateful for all the dies out there in cardmaking land! Besides, all the CUTE and intricate shapes are irresistible!!

Pretty Pink Posh is having a Cutting Edge Blog Hop spotlighting dies. Yes, I'm joining in the fun!

I CASEd a card from Debby Hughes in the SYS2 class.
The dies I used for this is the new Stitched Duo 2 Dies and Stitched Borders I Dies from PPP. The sentiment die is Wplus9 Hand Lettered Thanks .
Sequins are from PPP too, 6mm Sparkling Clear and 4mm Auqumarine.

You can read about the HAPPY ACCIDENT that brought about the textured blue cosmos flowers here.

The hop starts today and goes to Monday, August 25th, so there is plenty of time to link up a card and HOP along!

There are prizes too!

Thanks for stopping by...Hope to see you at the hop!

It's the Kiddos' Post

The Simon Says ,,, Summer Vacation Kid’s Challenge is going on for the month of August. You bet my kiddos, Emma, 10 and Mark, 8 years old, wanted to join in on the fun!  They have been on a Lego kick for awhile:) Which explains the first two cards.

Emma, (10) -  " I used ABCs from Lawn Fawn"

Mark, (8) - "I like paper piecing Lego guys"

Mark, (8) - "I REALLY like the Dinosaur set "

Mark, (8) -"I used paint daubers for this one"
Thanks for looking!

Your Brother's birthday is...Today?! Woops:/

What do I do when I forget to make a card for my brother- in -law?? Well fortunately for me, CASE Study's 4th Anniversary Week #3 means there are Several cards to CASE this week! I had only started this week's HOP when my the error of forgetting came to my attention.
I chose Annikarten's card to CASE.

Side by side you can see the similarities-- Circle, Stencil, Rainbow, Black sentiment.

Thank you so much Annikarten for helping come up with  a quick card, and getting me out of a fix:)

Thanks for looking!

Homework I'm happy to do!

On Day 9 – Floral and Floral Builder Stamps, of SYS2, Dawn shared a technique that I've been Happy to work on as homework! The new FRESH CUT Containers set lends it's self nicely to the technique of stamping and doodling.

After putting it together I found it to be reminiscent of this card I made for a PTI blog hop. And homework from the Watercolor Stamping , day 3 of from the previous OCC.  I really like the extra added doodling. It adds a personal touch that is my style.

Thanks for stopping by. and THANK YOU  for your sweet comments!

Guest designing at The Card Concept

I was positively TICKLED when Lesley Croghan, Challenge Creator & Designer of The Card Concept Challenge, asked me to be a guest designer for three months. The Card Concept is unique in that it encourages ALL styles of card making..6 styles are defined and examples given for each challenge. It was here that I first understood what each of those styles were. I still have yet to determine what MY style is exactly...I like to dabble in them all :) However, for three challenges I will be focusing on the FREESTYLE/Collage, truly one of my favorites!

Here is the inspiration photo for Challenge #17.

I LOVE the color GREEN..so that was my starting point. Then FLOWERS- of course, And  the shadows and Stitched headboard were other points of interest..

This is what I came up with.

I stenciled in some "shadows".   Layered several dies from PTI and Penny Black. Topped it off with some PPP Sequins and a sentiment from Altenew. Paper piercing on the edges was the final touch.

Stop by the TCC Blog to find more amazing creations from the Team. Check them out and PLAY along!!

Hope to see you in the Link :)
