New to me - Paper Casting

Good Friday to ya!
Today I want to share something new  - PAPER CASTING.  Have you tried this technique yet?
Danielle Flanders shared a video for the EASY process for  Make It Monday #181: Paper Casting  at Papertrey Ink earlier this week.
The texture of casting is so cool!
Well, I have played all week with various stamps and dies...and yes, used up an entire role of toilet tissue.

However, a treasure basket filled with goodies to use later is the end result:)

I'm just giddy with all these lovelies!

I found, as Danielle did, that making the die cut FIRST and then using the stamp for the CAST, creates the sharpest images. I also cut some Bitty buttons from the left over stacks of TT.  Some of them I spritzed with Tattered Angels Glitter Mist!

The Rustic Wreath die was so delicate and pliable...tricky to stamp ink on later though. But worth the effort:)

I encourage you to check out the video on the process . Get a roll of tissue and start CASTING:)
I think these pieces look GREAT on a card. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a Blessed Weekend!

Papertrey Ink September 2014 Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies!
To say that I was smitten with the  Inspiration Photo Nichole chose for this month's hop is an understatement. Gorgeous colors, bright berries and warm sweaters..it just makes me want take a brisk walk in the cool fall air!

Danielle also showed how to make some SUPER neat textured items for Make It Monday #181: Paper Casting. I'm have TOO much fun with this:) Big Hugs for sharing this technique Danielle!
I'll share more casting creations later:)

Here is the Colour Palette and photo for The September Hop Inspiration.

I used Doodlie-Do for the paper casting. Beautiful Brushstrokes works well as an accent.
B.B.: Farm and Barn makes a cozy background.
The sentiment is from Garden Grace.
Mixing different stamp sets is so much fun!

I can't wait to see what everyone else has created this month:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says,,,TAG IT and SSS Flickr Challenge #2

This weeks SSS Wednesday Challenge is TAG IT.
Got my Tim Holtz tag die out and Several SSS stencils and Stamp sets to play along! The tag is cut out of SSS woodgrain paper then I used Colored shaving cream spread over the Gingham stencil, lifted the stencil off and used the heat tool to dry off the extra shave cream...cool way to use such a delicate stencil!

The BG for the flowers was created with the same shaving cream and swirled onto white cardstock. I then used Distress Markers to create more details on the flowers. The sentiment is embossed and Stickles were added on the dots for the flowers.
Glitter strips of paper added a nice touch at the bottom of the tag:)
Tic-Tac-Toe is the theme for the SSS Flickr Challenge #2. I have played the bottom row for my card.
Polka dots-Flowers-Glitter.

Thanks for looking!

Gotta run off and play some Disc Golf with my DH:)

Make It Monday #180: Paper Weaving

Paper Weaving....by Ashley Cannon Newell is the focus at PTI's Make It Monday #180.
The color palette was inspired by this photo shared for the PTI September Blog Hop.

I used this sketch as a starting point for the design. Those Inspiration cards are so helpful!!

I REALLY enjoyed looking through all my scraps of paper!  The randomness of the weave and paper sizes added to the delight of playing along this week.

Thanks for looking!

The Card Cencept Challenge #19 - Colour

Hello Lovelies!!
The  newest Colour Challenge is up on The Card Concept.  Brilliant Lime, Red, Yellow and White!

Perfect colours for setting the mood for Autumn creations!

Here is my Freestyle Collage card.

Now, when I first saw the inspiration photo all I could think of  was falling leaves..then they turned to butterflies.
For the background I used the Painted Canvas design block from Hera Arts.  So many drippy color possibilities!

It has taken a bit of practice to get this stamp to work for me.  I found that inking the top only of the stamp, then spritz with TONS of water and holding the block up on end works best.  This allows the colors to drip down on it's own and mix freely:)

I used my BRAND NEW Wplus9 small Butterfly Frame die.  Memorybox : Chloe Stem and Bella Bouquet in vellum added a soft touch. PPP sequins bring on the bling:)
I chose to leave this sentiment free for now, but I'm thinking one will fit nicely in the bottom right corner of the framed area.

Pop over to The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see all the other cards from the DT.

Remember at The Card Concept, all card styles are encouraged!  Here is a brief description of each style.

Hope you play along:)...Can't wait to see what you Create!

P.S. Since I used the new small Butterfly Frame, I'm linking up to Darnell's
NBUS Challenge #2

April's Orange Beauty

My family has had the pleasure of hosting volleyball almost every week at our home since early spring this year. This has become our family ministry, getting together with fellow Homeschooling families and Christian young adults to play volleyball.  The Lord has blessed us with enough flat ground to put up 6 full courts....Good ol' plains of Illinois!  On average we have 40-60 players each night we play. All levels of skill are present and we hope to be instilling good sportsmanship and encouragement to all who attend.
We are blessed to have met so many new young people through this:)
April is one such young lady. The other night, she wore a FABULOUS orange tee-shirt..I asked if I could take a photo so I could make a card inspired by it.

Her is my card
Thanks April for the Inspiration!

I sponged Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick for the background after embossing several stamps in clear and white for a resist. Then stamped more flowers and dots with the same three inks.
Wplus9, PTI, Unity, and Hero Arts stamps were used.

SSS Wednesday Challenge is Make your own Background.  I will be linking up with that challenge:)

Thanks for stopping by.

Lime Lemonade--Pattern Paper

I have made a "twofer"--- One card for Two Challenges. Time is short these days for card making so I do my best to fit the challenges in:)

Altenew has issued their first challenge... Altenew September Challenge.. YUMMY lime and yellows for the inspiration photo.

Virginia's View Challenge # 7  is all about the Pattern Paper that I know I LOVE to buy and hoard..for Someday to use.

I spread colored texture paste over pattern paper and impressed HA's  Dots and Flowers design block  while it was still wet to get a lovely texture...
Fussy cut Dodecagram and Hennah Elements from Altenew are the belladonna of this card. .
I colored some PPP Sparkling Clear sequins with Citron Color Shine from Heidi Swapp to match the lime in the paper.

Thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Lovely Leaves and Mixed Media challenge

Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Crushed Olive were the inks I chose to play with after seeing the inspiration photo for the  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Penny Black Stencil Promenade is the main focal point, with Life's Messages as the sentiment.
I added some Sparkling clear sequins from PPP and a splash of Gold color shine from Heidi Swapp.
Just a touch of washi completed  the whole thing.
I played with some heaving inking and water with the stencil...then double stamped the sentiment for the shadow effect.
EDITED: For a step-by-step Picture tutorial; click HERE to see it.

Thanks for stopping by.
Looking forward to a busy week...Have a GOOD one!

Edited: Thanks for the shout out Maria and Loll at The Mixed Media Card Challenge!

Make It Monday #178:Easel Card

Hello..we are almost to the weekend already! YAY!!  I had a bit of time to play along with the MIM #178 challenge.  Erin Lincoln shows how to make an easel shape by cutting a die at the bottom of a card.
Easy Peasy!

I used a pre-printed paper free-bie from a PTI order , embossed the sentiment, matted that onto Tropical Teal polka dot paper and adhered it onto a Tropical Teal card base Partially cut with the MEGA mat stack die.

Here is a close-up shot of the partial cut.
