STAMPlorations Monthly Challenge - Stamps & Stencils

YAY! It's Friday!!
Also the beginning of STAMPlorations March Challenge- Stamps and Stencils.

Here's my card for the challenge using:
About a Rose
I dry embossed the stencil, at an angle, by running it through my Big Kick, then colored a few of the raised Old Roses with water color pencils and Distress inks.
Then I stamped  a sentiment from About a Rose,(Stamp Lab)  and LOVE, a few times over the top for visual interest.  On a separated piece of cardstock I stamped and colored the rose image, then cut the square and mounted it onto the stenciled BG.
Heat embossing three hearts in black, along with another LOVE, helps add balance with dark contrast at the bottom of the card.
And finally a touch of washi to finish the whole thing off:)

Milla is a Guest Designer this month.

Stop by STAMPlorations and check out the cards from the other DT Gals!

Hope to see you playing along:)

Your card looks relatively simple but is so full of gorgeous details, love to look at it ... and then look again ... and see something new everytime.

This is one great example of the kinds of techniques you can achieve with stencils! You pulled out all the stops.

Your card made me sigh when I first saw it, LauraJane. I love everything about it -- the layout, the texture from the stencil, the colors, the black spatters.

Adore your card and how you have used the stenciled panel at a "jaunty angle". Love all the layers you have created too. Many thanks for choosing me to be a GDT for this months challenge. Lou x
