Altenew July 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends! I'm super excited to be a part of the Altenew July 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop.
If you are hopping along from the start, you should be arriving from Sandra Dietrich's blog. The full hop list as at the end of this post for your convenience.

I feel so blessed to be a guest designer for this blog hop! Altenew has once again blown me away with yet another NEW release filled with unique products to broaden our craft supply. I had the pleasure of creating with several of them for today's post. Take a look!

Make sure to scroll all the way to the end of this post to see a bonus card;)

First up: Floral Alphabet stamp set

Floral Alpha Bundle

I created a one layer card based on lessons learned from the Class at Altenew Academy: One-Layer Wonders taught by Kelly Latevola.
The stamped Floral Alphabet looks so pretty colored with the Artistic Markers. That is the new Needlework Motif  stamp used to create a simple pattern background in Maple Yellow crisp ink from the mini cube set..

Then I used the Floral Alphabet stamp set to create a 3D home decor project:) Yes, I'm hooked on stitching!

The simple lines in the Floral Alphabet stamp set are perfect for brushing up on basic embroidery stitches!  After finishing the stitching, I stained the embroidery hoop with Crisp inks to coordinated with my #HOOPART:)

Next up is the multilayer Life is Awesome stamp set along with the Leaf Frame cover die

Life is Awesome stamp set layers inked with the following Mini cube sets:
Leaf Frame cover die cut from Real Gray cardstock

And my last project today, Needlework Motif stamp set and coordinating dies:
Needlework Motif Bundle
This delightful image from Needlework Motif colored up quickly with  Artistic Markers. The coordinating die cuts the scrolling image beautifully! I then inked a pattern background using the set A Gift for You image, inked with Industrial Diamond Crisp ink.
The black cardstock elements are cuts from Create A Wreath and Gradient Stripes Cover Die.

And as a bonus, I took some time to stitch/create one more card:)
The Oval Embroidery Hoop Die Set is a beautiful addition to the Altenew Stand-Alone Die family! I love how this Hoopart card turned out!

To make the card,

I thought the embellishment swag need a bit more something, so I created three Wheel Roses with the embroidery floss and glued them to the center.

Hope you enjoyed my creations today and maybe give stitching on some projects as well.
Your next stop on the hop is my friend RUBY's blog! Thanks for hanging out with me here, make sure to leave me a comment and tell me which card you liked best.

Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway

    Hello friends!
If you've been following my blog the last few years, you know that I LOVE to color thanks to the cloring challenge hosted by Kathy at The Daily Marker.  So when May from Altenew asked if I wanted to join the Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop, I quickly said YES:) Because Coloring is the BEST Therapy for me.
If you are hopping along from the beginning, you should be arriving from Kelly Latevola's blog.
Who happens to be another one of my biggest coloring influences:))

In honor of the hop, Altenew is having a great promotion on their Artistic Markers

Let's jump right in, shall we!
I thoroughly enjoyed coloring the images from Folksy Florals with the Artistic Markers. The Zig Real Color watercolor brush pens are my usual go-to medium, so it took some time for me to learn how to color with the Altenew alcohol based markers. Taking the Creative Coloring With Artist Markers Class helped with understanding how the markers blend together too.  By "color mashing" and flicking layer after layer of various markers, I was able to achieve several whimsical blooms:)

    Taking photos along the way:)
I began by lightly inking, on 80# white cardstock, the floral images from Folksy Florals with Buttercream Crisp Ink . which is my favorite ink to use for no line coloring.
These are the main Artistic Marker Colors used for the main colors on all the blooms.
In the end, I added more details and more shades. Below is the complete chart of  Artistic Markers used for coloring the card front.
I stamped the sentiment with Silver Stone and Industrial Diamond Crisp inks and then freehand drew in the stems around the letters.

After making the marker chart, I decided to mark the edges of another A2 sized cardfront with most of the colors used and layer that under the main panel, as a simple border.
That tiny butterfly was a happy accident after I dropped a yellow marker on my completed card.
I finished with a quick kiss of Green on the very edge of the lower edge of the stems for a happy visual break below:)

I hope you enjoyed the photo walk-through of my coloring with the Artistic Markers on the Folksy Florals stamp set. Your next stop on the Hop is Svitlana Shayevich!

PRIZES  Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to SIX lucky winners!
