Inspired By challenge #69

Inspired by the ORANGE pumpkins and wildflowers, I reached for the Fresh Cut Carnations and Large Florals: Carnation from The Ton.
I tried out a "new to me" masking technique shared by Lydia Evans.. Using CLEAR Heat embossing over a stamped image for the mask. It worked very well, and no fussy cutting necessary:))
Trimmed the panel with Crazy Double stitched rectangle die.  Added the HUGS word die and a few Nuvo Drops.

Inspired By All The Little Things #68

Inspired by the swag of blooms and soft texture in the blue gown:))
The Swag on my card is created with two new sets from The Ton Stamps called Celebration Rose Cluster
and  Country Rose Cluster.  Just a hint of masking is all it took to make them appear as if they are one bouquet. The BG is Freestyle Stripes inked with Stormy Sky Distress InkColored with Ziggys:))
After coloring and adding the sentiment dies I got out a Sparkler pen...bad idea! It dripped blops that I did not want:(( never fear!! NUVO drops to the rescue:)))

Hello! And Welcome to my blog:) How Exciting to be highlighting the COZY LADY stamp and Coordinating Die set being released TODAY at Ellen Hutson! Take a look ⇩⇩. Doesn't she seem like a kindred spirit; bosom buddy? and oh, so COZY?!? Love her scrunchy, comfy socks:)

I found coloring with Zig Clean Color Markers on the Cozy Lady set to be relaxing:)

Other Essentials By Ellen used:  For the sentiment bloom. Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Mondo Magnolia by Julie Ebersole
I DO LOVE embellishing with Nuvo Dots.... Directly onto my finished cardfront:)

I took the Cozy Lady outdoors for my next card.

Colored again with Ziggys and surrounded with several die cut leaves, and other fall themed goodies found in the set. Each have their own coordinating dies for quick cutting. A soft flurry of falling leaves are stamped in the background with Sand Dunes Crisp Ink.

Stamped a vibrant background for my last card. and colored with Ziggys and Copic markers
Then I stamped the Cozy Lady in VERSAFINE INK PAD, VINTAGE SEPIA and trimmed her out with the coordinating die.  Popped her in front of the colored background and placed a Handmade tag from Altenew in her hands inked with a sentiment from the Cozy Lady set. And finished with the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Brushstroke Love by Julie Ebersole inked with the same Vintage Sepia pad above.

That's all from me today! I hope you have found this Cozy Lady set as sweet as I have:))
If hopping from the beginning you should have arrived from the blog of Jan Tinklenberg.  Your next stop is Svitlana Shayevich, at Craftwalks.

Here are other stamps and dies that are being released today.. you will find samples using them from the many talented designers on today's hop. Enjoy!

Inspired By All The Little Things #67

I've created a soft and subtle Thank You card inspired by the muted pinks in the photo.

Glueing the negative cuts from Layered Floral cover die onto a softly inked panel of distress oxides, took a bit of time. Press n Seal keeps the pieces in place after lifting them from the metal die.  Thank you die from Altenew.

Theme and Sketch challenge at STAMPlorationd

Hello! and welcome back to a NEW challenge at STAMplorations for Theme and Sketch. The summer break just FLEW by!! But it's good to get back to playing with my STAMPlorations goodies.
Here are the two challenges to work with for the month of October:

I chose to go with the Theme: Stamp and Two Colors. It was a challenge that I REALLY worked on:)) but failed because I HAD to add GREEN! Every floral needs green right?
Steps to create the card:

  • I Stamped the lovely In Bloom: Floral Bliss Trio onto Bristol Smooth watercolor CS.
  • Then chose my TWO colors of SHIMMERZ sprays: Vibes: Sunset Strip and Spritz: Caribbean Sunset
  • Painting/Watercoloring with the spays was a second challenge I set for myself...I think that worked out very well:)) As the two colors mixed to create several shades of reds, yellows to orange.
  • Then came time for the leaves...Keep Palm and Bamboo Leaf..two more sprays from Shimmerz.
  • Added some stripes of Yellow for the background.
  • Colored pencil for a touch of dark detailing i the shadows.
  • Stamped the sentiment from Fond Expressions  with Sepia colored ink.
  • Added some splatter
  • Trimmed with Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die
  • Should have quit RIGHT HERE in my opinion😆

I SHOULD have stopped at this point..At least I took a photo before moving on...But I like to push...can't stop fiddling with it.
So I added shadowing around the TRIO..it did not end well. 😡

Take a look:
I shadowed with a few Zig markers. Some may like it messy...some like it clean... what do you think?

Hope you give the Challenge a try at STAMPlorations!!

Big Hugs,

Hop for Hope

Hello!  and Welcome to my stop on the Secret BCRF Hop to Surprise Ellen and Julie:) If you are hopping from the beginning, you should be arriving from the blog of Kittie Caracciolo.

I'm thrilled to be a part of this surprise for Ellen filled inspirational eye candy using the COURAGE stamp set. THANK you Carly, for inviting me:))
Creating  encouragement cards for those that are going through the trials of BC is super easy with the COURAGE stamp set. As you will see, I LOVE the many layers in the flowers..plus the sentiments are unique.
This stamp set is dear to me, as my Mother and MIL are BC survivors. Mom is currently recovering from her second bout of  NON-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and doing well in spite of "chemo brain"..which on some days, I think I experience sympathy symptoms of:)) If you or someone you love is fighting the battle of any kind of cancer, I highly recommend the recovery program and life-style recommended by Chris Wark in his Chris Beat Cancer Program!

Here are my cards:

For my first card I stamped a heart with the sweet flowers in the Courage set and using Crisp Inks from Altenew onto White cardstock

The second Card features the Ribbon die from Courage set.  I cut two ribbons from pink CS. On the second ribbon, I took the die and re-cut just the top loop to make a BOW:) Then I stamped and cut the flower elements using the coordination dies. Stamped the sentiment onto the lower part of the ribbon tail...after doing a bit of stamp surgery:)) Mounted the arrangement onto a white panel cut with the pretty scalloped SUNSHINE LAYERS.
The remainder of the sentiment is stamped
on the inside of the card.
And for my final card, I stamped a fun floral background using the flower layersfrom Courage and colored up Plant Lady with Prismacolor pencils.

Thanks for stopping by!
Your next stop on the hop is Laurel Beard, Happy Hopping!
