Inspired By All the Little Things #13

YAY!! it's Saturday which means there is a new Challenge at Inspired By All the Little Things:)
I was inspired by the BLUE and the Butterflies!
The Ton's Bokeh Burst- Heart set worked very well with the MISIT to get the different subtle shade of blue on the heart. Then I inked LOVE in three shades to get the hombre effect. That Butterfly is from the Thanks stamp set from HoneyBee Stamps.

Here's the list of my Super Inspiring Team Mates.

Happy Friday!
While reading through  my FEEDLY stream this morning, I had the wonderful surprise to see that Effie, from The Ton, had highlighted one of my cards that  I've not posted here on my blog.

Thanks for the highlight Effie:)

After winning a Gift Certificate and receiving a new haul from The Ton, I could not wait to create with HAPPIEST of PEONIES and SENDING PEONIES . I had envisioned the two sets working together to build a dreamy bouquet.
I love it when a vision becomes reality:))

  • First I embossed the images in Gold and just a bit of masking on watercolor #140 paper.
  • Then I used BRUSHO Crystal Watercolors to color in the blooms..LOVE the vibrant hues:))
  • The "blue haze" background is from my  ZIG markers as well as the fine detailing on the petals.
  • Die-cut the panel with SSS stitched rectangle die
  • Matted it on black Lacquer paper from Michael's
  • PPP sequins

Do hop over to see all the other fantastic Cards

Have a great weekend!

The Card Concept # 54 Lilacs and Shades of blue

Hello! There is a new Inspiration photo at The Card Concept to work with.
Fresh Lilacs:))  LUSH shades of Spring!
I was inspired by both the blooms and the steel blue metal pale in the photo.

Here is my card:
I stamped three Large Blooms from the Beautiful Day set, varying the colors for each one. After stamping all the  layers in different shades of blue and embossed the outline layer in gold. Then  I fussy each one out. I chose one cut down to the smaller center bloom and used the outside petals behind the main flower on my card, to give it a fuller look:)

The inks are from the COOL SUMMER NIGHTS and GREEN FIELDS sets from Altenew too.
The Embossing is METALLIC GOLD RICH Pale from WOW!!
Sequins Pretty Pink Posh:))

Hope this inspires you to play along!

HelIo! Hope your weekend was Fabulous!

I was inspired by the colors and translucency of the shapes in the inspiration photo.

I worked with my first stitching die: Folk Flower. It was just like playing with the lace cards as a child. I stitched it with various shades of vellum paper and layered it on a BG using DOT SPOT.

    Thanks for hopping by!

Inspired By All the Little Things #12

    Hello!
Tracey has chosen the most ethereal photo for this week's inspiration at Inspired By All the Little Things.
    .
I do believe those are magnolia blooms but I chose to use a set from Precious Remembrance called Sweet Pea.
    • I stamped a few of the sweet-pea blooms on white card stock.
    •  Zigs made for quick and easy coloring.
    • I then die cut the panel down with Waffle Flower Lacy Layers
    • Set it aside to ink up another panel with Distress: Iced Spruce and Altenew Crisp inks: Sea Glass and Ocean Waves.
    • Embossed the LOVE YOU in white.
    • And finished it off with ribbon, doily and Squiggle die from Penny Black.

    Some Coloring

    Happy Friday!
On Instagram I saw this photo that Dawn from Wplus9 was coloring. Isn't it beautiful??
I just received the Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia stamp from SSS and wanted to color along with her. I used Zig Clean Color markers and waterbrush instead of Copics which is what Dawn was using.

    • Coloring three at a time helped me learn what I liked in colors, brush strokes and addition of water.
    • All are on watercolor paper.
    • Stamped in Distress Antique linen for the No-Line coloring effect.
    • In hindsight I should have remembered to do a "second generation stamping" because it was difficult to hide the line even though it was distress.

Here are some step by step photos.
I decided that I better start documenting what color Zigs I used for each one at this point for the second flower.
By the second flower I realized adding water did not give me the sharp lines I was going for. So I put down the waterbrush.
Then is was time for leaves and as you can see this is were different brush strokes really change the character of the image.

At this point I quickly colored the smaller leaves and flowers in.  It was a bit tricky to deciding on the colors though.
Now the first one kind of went south due to poor color choices. So I matted it and will leave it for later.

I added a simple a sentiment to the pink one, Hand Lettered Hello from wplus9 and used the technique shared at PTI MIM #246 to give it a Faux-brushed look. Then I added a Zig brush: GrayTint shadow around the entire cluster to give it some depth.

For the next one I cut the Bouquet out and layered it with some Dp and Vellum. I LOVE this one because of the colors..BLUE and Yellow together make me think of Lin at Sending Hugs:))

Hope you enjoyed seeing my process of coloring for the week. Wishing you a Blessed Weekend!

      Party at Virginia's View!

Not only is it Friday, but there's a Party going on
One can simply dance with JOY over the return of my favorite card challenge!
Even if it is for ONE time:))) I can always hope for more!

       Virginia is asking for
"miss you", "hello"...any types of friendship cards
to be added to the link-up on her challenge blog.

      Here is my card:))

      • I followed the video tutorial shared on Jennifer McGuire's blog by the fabulous Marika on watercoloring the blooms from LACY SCROLLS stamp set with Zig markers.
      • After coloring the blooms and adding greenery my composition needed something light and airy.
      • In came this Discovery to use a small splotchy stamp from Birch Land to create LARKSPUR or DELPHINIUM type flowers.

      I LOVE the result:))
And being the magpie that I am, I found some silver elastic thread...took the stretchy part out and used the shiny part for the "nest" behind the HELLO.

      There you go!
HELLO Virginia! Your challenge has been terribly missed !
I have a feeling, however, that GREAT things are coming in your creative adventure, and I can't wait to see what it is:)))
      Hugs
