When I saw the card from Jocelyn Olson at CASE Study's 4th Anniversary Week #3, I knew it was a starting point for a Birthday card for my oldest daughter. Then Cristina Kowalczyk's card kept running through my head.
So I combined the two.
My inspiration:
The colors and lacy white of the cut flowers are so appealing in Jocelyn's card |
How COOL is this with the bike half way in the middle of the spine, from Cristina |
I used PTI's ENJOY the RIDE for the focal point. Popped it in the middle of watercolor cardstock washed with KIO colors. Then I added bits and pieces from my scrap stash. Just a bit of stitching for the road, and finally, the sentiment with well wishes from the smallest workers. Pretty Pink Posh sequins are the perfect touch of magic!

This card is so fabulous, Laura Jane! The fully finished back of the card is *so* cool!! I love the white die-cut bike!
Love how you interpreted both card inspirations. Thanks for playing along with us at CASE Study!
Excellent Creative thinking Laura Jane. Interesting that you wrapped part of the bike around to the back of the card then put the sentiment on the card on what would be the back. Bringing both cards together and innovating and integrating them this way is beautiful. Double Kudos. - Jim
Just stunning!! I simply LOVE your coloring and the ants following behind : ) Happy Birthday to your DD.
