Here are the two challenges to work with for the month of October:
I chose to go with the Theme: Stamp and Two Colors. It was a challenge that I REALLY worked on:)) but failed because I HAD to add GREEN! Every floral needs green right?
Steps to create the card:
- I Stamped the lovely In Bloom: Floral Bliss Trio onto Bristol Smooth watercolor CS.
- Then chose my TWO colors of SHIMMERZ sprays: Vibes: Sunset Strip and Spritz: Caribbean Sunset.
- Painting/Watercoloring with the spays was a second challenge I set for myself...I think that worked out very well:)) As the two colors mixed to create several shades of reds, yellows to orange.
- Then came time for the leaves...Keep Palm and Bamboo Leaf..two more sprays from Shimmerz.
- Added some stripes of Yellow for the background.
- Colored pencil for a touch of dark detailing i the shadows.
- Stamped the sentiment from Fond Expressions with Sepia colored ink.
- Added some splatter
- Trimmed with Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die
- Should have quit RIGHT HERE in my opinion😆
I SHOULD have stopped at this point..At least I took a photo before moving on...But I like to push...can't stop fiddling with it.
So I added shadowing around the TRIO..it did not end well. 😡
Take a look:
I shadowed with a few Zig markers. Some may like it messy...some like it clean... what do you think?
Hope you give the Challenge a try at STAMPlorations!!
Big Hugs,

I think the added shadow is good, it anchors the flowers and make them pop a bit more. The darker line around the flowers is possibly a touch too dark, if it's watersoluble I'd try to soften it into the larger shadow. However, with or without the shadow, the colours are brilliant and the hand painted flowers look beautiful.
Wowwww!!! Beautiful card Laura!! Great coloring! :)
This is a beautiful card! Well done!!
Even if you had to use some green, this is still a gorgeous floral card !!
