Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria + Video and Stitching Project:)

Hello everyone!
I'm excited share with you projects featuring the new Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria. Altenew is having a Bloghop this month sharing inspiration from several Design Team members and guest artists. If you are hopping from the beginning, you should be arriving from the crazy talented Erum Tasneem!
(I do have a full hop roster at the end of this post)
Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria

For my first card I used the middle layer for the blooms of the Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria and the outline layer for the leaves. Then, I grabbed the coordinating dies in the set to cut the images out and arranged them on a softly inked background. Shades of Purple and my favorite, Cosmic Berry Crisp Inks and Artist Markers provide the color on this simple yet elegant card.
Trying out a "Dotty style" of coloring with the Artist Markers shared by Alex Syberia...and Kathy Racoosin:)

************************
Going for a one layer Collage style card for my next project, which ended up looking quite different than the first. Using all the the image layers in the Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria, I spent a most LOVELY time creating in the craft room!
Crisp Inks used:Pure Granite, Just Green, Sweet Leaf, Minty Mint, Cosmic Berry, Vineyard Berry, Heart Beat, Coral Bliss.
Additional Supplies: Pinstripe Stamp set and Crystal Clear Embossing Powder
And I actually filmed a process video!

You can watch the video here in HD or on my YouTube channel.

*********************

After I turned the camera off, I continued playing by using the coordinating dies on several more stamped leaves and additional blooms then added them to the cardfront for greater dimension,..
The finished card is below:

Do you think I should have stopped at one layer, or do you like the dimension? I like the dimension. Let me know your opinion in the comment section.

AND just because, I'm hooked on modern embroidery as well as Stamping, I DO have a bonus stitching project :)

The outline layers of Anemone Coronaria, along with the Halftone Smile, inked up BEAUTIFULLY on 100% cotton fabric using Evening Grey Crisp Ink, . The coordinating dies created quick Masks on sticky notes to form a sweet cluster of Anemones and leaves.  Next I added the second layer images on the blooms; inked with Warm Sunshine. Then added a bit  of coloring detail with Artist Markers.
I thought the project looked very pretty in it's 6" hoop!

However, because of my new addiction to stitching,, I finished with some modern embroidery to create MORE dimension on this #hoopart.

  •  SOOO many French Knots for the Anemone Coronaria centers
  •  Stem Stitch for the veins of the leaves
  • BackStitch as a partial fill on the SMILE

Hope you've enjoyed my cards and HoopArt today.  Your next stop on the hop is Reiko Tsuchida.

Great cards! The stitch is a bonus but I really don't need to start another hobby!

All those French knots!!! Wow!! I used to cross stitch and whenever I had to do French knots, I dreaded it. lol So I can really appreciate the work that went into that beautiful piece! I love the dimension on the 2nd card. And the first card is my favorite. I love the design of making a frame from the sentiments. And of course, the purple. lol

Oh my goodness. You are so creative. I love the way you did the first card.. so dreamy. The words surrounding the florals is perfect. And I love the messy more random look of the second card! And then stamping on fabric! Oh my! I've never thought of doing this... I used to do cross stitch... Embroidering the gorgeous Altenew blooms would be so fun! You are inspiring!

What a lovely array of projects you've made here! I love the soft monochrome of the first piece and the frame of the sentiment. And what a fun idea to do the stitching; this particular flower really lends itself to that, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Thanks for sharing all this great inspiration!

I love the hoop art. It’s different and gorgeous!! My first love is cross stitch with a very close second being cardmaking. I’m very new to card making (of course I’ve learned how to add to your stash very well!!). I love to see everyone’s cards but to see someone use embroidery, I think that it really exciting!!

WOW. Your cards are fabulous too. I can not believe the amount of talent being shown in Altenews blog hop. Amazing. I love your first card the colours are so pretty. The 2nd card I personally would of stopped when you stopped (if that makes sense lol) but then again the card ended up very dimensional which I like also but not love like the first one.
Ive never done embroidery but seeing your gorgeous "Hoop Art" I might have a re-think. It's gorgeous too. Thankyou for sharing your amazing talent with us all xxx
