Altenew + The Daily Marker Color Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video

It's no secret that I like/LOVE to color and Kathy Racoosin has been a huge influencer for me.  Her Challenge #TheDailyMarker30Day is a fun way to get that 10 minutes of coloring a day in as well as supporting other colorists by LIKING/commenting/ Encouraging them as they share what they have colored on social media. I've participated in several years of the challenge and enjoyed being an Ambassador for Kathy and her 7th challenge.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with using any of the coloring mediums by Altenew. I find them to be great quality at an affordable price. Coloring 10 minutes a day, has increased my skills and is a great stress reliever too!

Altenew is collaborating with the amazing Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker to inspire crafters to find joy through coloring. Kathy is celebrating her 14th 30 Day Coloring Challenge until the end of November 2019. I encourage you to participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge by coloring something and share it on social media using the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. We hope you find “Me Time” and enjoy the benefits that coloring will give.

I have two projects to share with you today , one has a video of the daily 10 minute process: (Of course I've sped it up to save time..but it's interesting to see in time-lapse form.)
Take a Closer look:

Coloring with the Artist Markers on the Breezy Bouquet stamp set for this first one:

I created a sunny background with the Molded Lines Stencil and embellished with the Creative Edges: Lace Die.
The COLORLESS Blender is my Friend!! I Love how I can put a line of marker in the shadows and draw out the color to an almost white using the 0 Colorless Blender.
****The Artist Markers are the only alcohol markers I am able to used because they do not have  STRONG FUMES. Other brands give me hives and headaches. So I was beyond THRILLED to find Altenew's markers to be compatible with my hyper sensitivity issues!!!

************************************

I Used the 36 Pan Watercolor set on my next project: Featuring.... BAF: Poppy

I like to start my watercolor projects by first stamping the images with Warm Sunshine Crisp Ink for No-line coloring.
For this, I stamped only the outline and the detailed images of the BAF:Poppy set, (skipping the solid images)

Then I go in with clean water and a #2 round brush on the detailed stamped layer to intensify and  move the ink around.

Th photo below is after adding color from the 36 pan watercolor set

And then even more color for extra definition.

You may watch the entire process in my video below or at YouTube:

************************************

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you have been inspired to give Kathy's  30 Day Coloring Challenge to see how your skills can improve. Remember to give the hashtag #TheDailyMarker30Day so we can all enjoy your coloring too!

I absolutely love the way you colored the card with the Breezy Bouquet stamp set. Loved that you left so much white space! I wouldn't have thought to do that and now I definitely will. The yellow color is so soft, I just love everything about it. Wish you would have included making that first card in your video.

Gorgeous watercoloring... so meticulous! Great videoing showcasing your process... I’m impressed with your use of a #2 brush... I’d be so impatient! Love the yellows! What a pretty stamp... good to know you can still get great looks using a subset of the layering stamps!

Both of your cards are beautiful LauraJane! I love that you used yellow for both of them.
Tell me, is that the molded lines stencil you used on the background of the first card by chance? I hope it is.
Your second card though is my favourite, you are so talented at painting. Thanks so much for making a video to share with use.
