Altenew February 2020 Stencils/Decals/Stand-alone Dies Release Blog Hop + Giveaway + 2 Videos!!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my stop on the Blog Hop celebrating the Altenew February 2020 Stencils/Decals/Stand-alone Dies Release! If your hopping from the beginning you should be arriving from the blog of Ashlea Cornell...I have the full bloghop list at the end of this post.

I LOVE how easy it is to create with Stencils and Stand-Alone dies!! And I had a fabulous time working with the Decals... working outside of my comfort zone of cards for a few of today's projects:))

I have 8 samples for you..let's get started. Since I have so many samples from this release, I'll break it up into sections.

Using the Decals was my greatest fear...so I worked with those first..and to my surprise, they are my favorite projects and were pretty easy to complete.

First up: DECALS

Framed Foliage Decal Set - Medium

There has been a blank wall in our home's library for awhile. When I saw the  Framed Foliage Decal Set - Medium I thought this would look great, but can I use a decal on textured walls? After researching on Pinterest...I found with the help of a tennis ball, a decal can be placed on a wall with texture...easy peasy! Check out my video showing how I did it:))

*******

The next decal I used was the Crafty Talk Decal Set - Small

I had a hunch, and it proved to be a successful one...that I could color the floral decals in the set with Artist Markers.
Watch my video of how easy it is to add color to the blooms.
Then true to my IG name @mammacooksalot...I placed those decals on my free standing Mixer.
I LOVE how this looks:)))
The color stays on the decal until removed with alcohol or other strong detergent. Yet can be wiped clean with a damp cloth without disturbing the color.
Here's a video of the coloring process:

*******

Moving on to the Stencils:
I adore making cards with stencils because with a little bit of ink blending, and maybe added details with markersShazam! the card is done:))  The new stencils in this release are LOVELY!!
Featuring:
Bursting Dahlia Stencil
Crisp Inks:Warm Sunshine, Fresh Lemon, Mountain Mist, Lime
Artist Markers: C001, Y204, Y512, G915, G935, B802, B714
Sentiment: Paint-A-Flower: Rose
Obsidian Pigment Ink

*******
This gorgeous Tranquil Wings Stencil was singing to me with it's multi layers inked in Sea Shore collection; kissed with the Antique Gold Pigment ink and Embossing powder! The shape was easy enough to mask and stamp a background of roses.
Featuring:
Tranquil Wings Stencil
Crisp Inks:Volcano Lake, Lagoon, Sweet Leaf
Antique Gold Pigment ink
Antique Gold Embossing powder
Background stamped with Paint-A-Flower: Rose in Fresh Lemon Crisp ink
Shadow: WG03 Artist Marker

*******
This next stencil, Hand-Drawn Tile Stencil, had me playing all afternoon! Below is a photo of 3 out of the 6 different ways I created background panels using this Art Deco style stencil.

Featuring:
Hand-Drawn Tile Stencil
Bold Greetings Die Set
Crisp Inks: Sweet Dreams Collection
Enamel Dots

*******
Next up I have a few of the newest Stand-Alone dies

Soft ink blending with a brush brings out the elegant beauty of the Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die.
 Featuring:
Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die
Bold Greetings Die Set
Gold Paper
Crisp Inks: Cherry Blossom
Dots in Maple Washi Tape

*******
The Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die is a die that simply screams to be stitched! I like to use a regular needle to pre-punch the Debossed holes from the front of the panel before stitching with a beading needle and thread. This makes it easier to know were to stitch..like a lace card from back in the pre-school days:))
Featuring:
Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die
Crisp Ink: Pinkolicious

*******
And my final card features a new 3D floral die...Open Blooms 3D Die Set and Nesting Frames Die Set.

Featuring:
Gradient Cardstock: Cherry Blossom, Green Meadows, Sea Shore, Summer Afternoon

*******
That's all for me today.

OK, I'm officially drooling!! Oh my gosh, you've made everything so fun! I've been at a loss of what to do with stencils whenever I've seen them available, and you helped me see the possibilities with what you've done, especially the blender. And sharing your apprehension of using stencils really spoke to my heart. The cards that you used the dotted starburst DEBOSSING die helped me see the value of using debossing techniques on paper crafts, especially with the added touch of the stitching. I have REALLY got to get busy! Bye -- and thanks for sharing!
