Hello Everyone! Today is Release day for the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Daisy. I'm excited to be part of the Blog hop starting at the Altenew Card Blog
Take a look at the new DAISY set:
*Craft-A-Flower: Daisy Layering Die Set: |
Below is the layering guide with two sizes of Daisy heads.
Each can be matched up according to the chart...or go wild and mix them up for even more variety! And two different leaf shapes with three layers each.
So, what do you do with all those
stenciled backgrounds and experimental inking, and washes of watercolor? Keep everything of course and use
them for the layering die sets.
When I received the Craft-A-Flower Daisy, I quickly went through my stash of stuff...i.e. experimental card fronts not good enough as a whole, but perfect for die cut layers. I chose several with a complementary color palette and lots of different textures and designs and just started cutting out with those layering dyes and I came up with these three cards for today.
Here are all my card samples together.
I actually accomplished these three cards in an hour. I'd say this was a very successful crafting session!
*******
For this first one.
*The Daisy itself is cut out, both layers, from white card stock.
*Then I found some beautiful green ink blended card front pieces that I cut the leaf layers from. And then added some gold embossing powder to the detailed layers of the leaves. I absolutely adore how this turned out! I finished by layering them onto a dry embossed stenciled panel.
*******
2nd card:
I cut one of the layers of the Daisy from a ink stenciled background in the corner and realized, "oh! how pretty that would be but just layered in an opposing color".... and fluffed up the petals.
This was very simple. I embellished with Soft Lilac metallic thread and Gold sequins.
*******
And for this last one; you can see how I just kind of went crazy with lots of layers cut from several pretty papers. Stacked them up and layered them onto a stenciled texture paste background. Wrapped some of the metallic thread around and finished with more sequins.....
and Boom! third card done!
What do you think? Do you keep all your card front creative/coloring attempts for future projects? How do you store them? I keep mine filed in a small drawer for easy viewing :)

These are amazing!
Your leaves really stand out with the GOLD. REALLY PRETTY. And the sort of marbeling effect is amazing, too!
What a fun artsy l9ook you have created.
Beautiful!
Love all the three cards. They are stunning. Such amazing techniques. The embossing on the first card adds such a rich look. And die cutting on stencilled cardstock is a wonderful idea.
Love all the cards, but the third one is my favorite. I absolutely love the texture the patterns give the daisies in the die cuts. Beautiful!
Beautiful cards! That’s definitely a success to create THREE cards in a hour!
Great cards, amazing leaves! TFS
Wow..I have to say I love your multiple layers of the flowers what a great idea...and all the cards are lovely...
Fantastic cards!!! Very artsy!!! Love the gold accents!!
I love daisies.
I regularly use my failed alcohol backgrounds for die cutting, but never even thought of using my so-so inked layers. Thank you so much! Love this look!
I love the third card you did. It looks like the flowers that they put the food coloring in to make them look like they are tye dyed.
That last card.. OMG! Thanks so much for inspiring! (I do not keep card fronts as I rarely have any extra)
All three cards are really pretty and so different. I keep some of my failed inking attempts but alas, they are not organized like yours!
Oh my goodness the gold accents are just stunning!
My failed inking attempts do not come close to yours! You are amazing to have created these three beautiful cards from your inking ttempsts! I am very impressed!
A gorgeous array of pretty cards. I love the gold embossing detail on the first card. Very elegant.
Nice.
3 in less than an hour and you added gold embossing. Beautiful. [Bunny]
I love the idea of die cutting with patterned paper! It always turns out so fun and colorful, and if you need a quick turn around for a card, it saves time without scrimping on flare :-)
I love your color combinations and the lovely gold embossing!
This blog hop is one of my favorites for sure. It is so fun to see your fabulously creative cards, each unique, and you made these in an hour?! Thank you for the inspiration!
Love the print papers for these!
Wow! What cheerful cards with the printed papers. I especially like the first card with the white daisies and the leaves with printed paper. Thank you.
These are so awesome-I love them all!
OMG! I love how you used the gold with the soft colors!

Your variety of pattern and textures are wonderful! Some of my favorite cards have used older inked panels too. The gold touches you added on the one card elevate the entire design.
I love your designs - always so great to see cards made with more "mixed media" style. Those touches of gold are just so elegant!
Beautiful cards! I love the colors on the first card and the ink-blended paper you used for the leaves! It really makes the white daisy pop! Pretty gold details too!
Awesome cards! I love the gilded trim! The variegated flowers are very different and pretty as well!
Lovely CAF set. Your cards are perfect with the pretty flowers. Thanks for the inspiration Laura Jane!
Wow! These cards are wonderful with clever designs! I love them all but my favourite is the white daisies with the touches of gold embossing on the green blended card for the leaves! Thanks for the inspiration! Take care! :)
ON a beautiful crafting roll with this most lovely set - and yours are very very lovely creations TFS
INCREDIBLY creative and inspiring card projects! WOW...so gorgeous!! Love the idea of using those pieces that are already made and in my stash...
Love your coloring technique. Such fun cards
Thud. That's my jaw dropping after seeing your first card!! Absolutely stunning!
Gorgeous cards. I love the soft colors and the styles -- amazing!
What a bunch of loveliness!! Stared at each one for a bit, then hot stuck trying to figure out that random glitzy paste on the last card. Wow!!!
Love love love all the three cards. The embossing on the die and the color combinations of the daisies is just gorgeous And it looks so rich. Love hopping along to see the amazing cards created by all the cardmakers with this amazing layering die
My favorite is your last card with the multiple layers of beautiful printed papers! I can't see the texture paste in the photo, but that would be a great background.
I don't keep all of my "experimental" card fronts. If they turn out nicely, i use them right away! and if they don't, i throw them away.
These little multi-colored looks are great fun!!!
Oh my, gold dipped leaves, so luxe.
Beautiful cards! What a great way to use ink blending experiments. I love the gold dipped leaves.
Gorgeous!! So excited about this new die set.
Very pretty
Awesome creations, I love your originality!
Wish I could get my creative flow going in an hour. I him-haw around so much and pulling stuff from every corner of my small craft area....LOL.. But such great looks here. Sentiments are really nice too. Happy day, off to another hop.
Beautiful use of colors for those flowers.
Beautiful! I love all the soft colors and the use of patterned papers to die cut the daisies!
Pretty cards. The third card is my favorite!
Three very unique cards that are just lovely. You pay attention to detail, and achieve great depth with your cards.
I generally complete the entire card, and store them in plastic card boxes filed by sentiment.
Love the mix of designs on the flowers!
I like the mix of color for the layers. Debating between the first and the last for favorite card.
Beautiful cards! I really like the third one with the patterned paper for the top layer.
These are three stunning cards! My goodness how unique each one is and such a creative way to add some pizzazz to this fabulous daisy die! I really don't have the words to say how wonderful they are; so hopefully you can feel the crafty vibe flowing thru the Internet, letting you know how awe-inspiring these are!!!
Pretty variety of cards.
