Altenew Mixed Media Ink Lovers Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello Everyone! Hope you are having a great week. Today I'm participating in the Altenew Mixed Media Ink Lovers Blog Hop. If you started at the beginning you should be arriving from Nathalie DeSousa . I have the full hop list at the end of this post.

I can't tell you how excited I am about the MIXED MEDIA inks from Altenew!! I first worked with the new inks for THIS YouTube Video Hop. (At the 5:30 minute mark). The MM inks arrived at the last minute so I quickly stamped a multi layered card at the end of the video.

What do I like about them?

  • Creamy coverage for stamping
  • Smooth inking with Blending tool
  • Layer beautifully with multi image sets
  • They stay wet enough to use Embossing powders
  • Can be used on Fabrics and other porous surfaces
  • Permanent once heat set

Let me show you a couple of cards I created using the Summer Fun Mixed Media Ink Bundle. (can you tell I'm in a watermelon kind of mood?)

This Bundle is full on SUMMER goodness!

For this first card I used the kaleidoscope stencil bundle along with Red Cosmos mixed media inks. I allowed the first layer, stencil A, to dry before adding the embossing powder to give it that beautiful shimmer!   I love how green flecks pop up in this translucent pearl embossing powder! It reminds me of watermelon on these super-hot 100° days

And next, since I had the Kaleidoscopes stencils out, I placed that beautiful Poppy Bloom stencil over the top and inked it really quick with the Frosty Pink and my favorite, Coral Berry. Then added the lighter greens, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. I love how the inked sentiment with Crystal Clear embossing powder really stands out.

*******

I can't wait to see MORE color collections in the Mixed Media inks!

I see the inks do well on everything they've been stamped on so far. Even the paper and it does seem to have a slightly different look than the regular inks which I like.
