Hello Friends! There's a new Paint-A-Flower release at Altenew. I'm honored to have been able to create with this one :) This post is part of the Blog Hop celebrating this gorgeous new set, starting at the Altenew Card Blog.Take a look at the PAF: Sunflower
I have colored two cards for today's post featuring the PAF: Sunflower stamp set and new Woodless Watercolor Pencil 24 Set.
This first card is my initial attempt at using the pencils. Inking the full stamp with Buttercream Crisp ink onto an A2 panel of Watercolor Paper Pad (9"x12")first. Then adding color to paper direct from the pencils and moving it around with clean water and a 000 brush.
Let me share a secret of how I kept those outlines so sharp and crisp...I left the stamp in my MINI MISTI TOOL and every once in a while, sprtized the stamp with water, then re-ink the stamp by coloring the lines with the colored pencils and re-stamp the impression over my in progress project.I used many colors.
Petals on Sun flowers: Ruby Red, Rubellite, Lavender Fields, Coral Bliss and a kiss of Fresh Lemon.
Flower centers: Paper Bag, Fresh Lemon, Yellow Ochre, and Jet Black
Leaves and Stems: Limeade, Grass Field Shadow Creek, Oolong Tea, Moss and Lemonade
For a messy background I scribbled a number of the colors together on a pallette and watered them down for a lite and splatter. To finish the panel I trimmed it close to the for Sunflowers and wrapped metalic Thread around the lower end. Then matted it with a coordinating moss green cardstock. Nearly forgetting the sentiment, I decided to stamp it on the upper right side with Obsidian Pigment ink then popped the whole thing onto an A2 card base.*******
I nearly gave up on the center. However after walking away and coming back a day later I added darker detail on hte edges to give more dimention. I LOVE how this turned out!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hoping my cards inspire your next masterpiece!!

Oh, yes! The first card. I really like the way you used unexpected colors for these blooms. Very nice!
Wonderful stamp, beautiful card. I can see why these watercolor pencils sold out so fast!
Love both cards. The colors in the first card are so lovely. I thought it was my favorite, but the second one is so elegant and real looking I can't make up my mind now.

I really like the colors used to paint the sunflowers. Very pretty cards.
Just beautiful, love what you made. Those items are both a must have.
Beautiful job. I really loved the card with the single sunflower.
I love the background effects on your cards today!
Beautiful card. They are both so warm and colorful- my favorite is the single bloom just because I love multilayered cards with more stuff, at least this one!

A stunning card highlighting another wonderful release!
I also loved that second card. Like how you singled out one stock and then did the coloring. It turned out to be spectacular. Wonderful job.

So pretty!! I love the pink tones on your sunflowers
I LOOK for your contributions to new releases because I find your style fresh and beautiful. But I agree about Debby Hughes--- very talented and giving me much to absorb especially about watercolor.
Your no-line card painting is LOVELY!! The open parts of the image let my imagination have a play and the colors blend so fluidly with the pencil colors. Thank you for this great piece.
Gorgeous coloring! Thanks for sharing.
Such lovely cards...love the metallic thread accent...
Such beautiful sunflower cards! Love the way you colored the images!
Wonderful look to both of the shared projects. I really like how different they turned out. Great way to see how the same set can vary.
I love the colours you chose and your colouring is very nice!
