Altenew + The Daily Marker Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway

Altenew is collaborating with the amazing Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker to inspire crafters to find joy through coloring especially now. Kathy is celebrating her 18th Coloring Challenge until 11/22/2020. Please encourage your followers/blog visitors to participate in the Coloring Challenge by coloring something and share it on social media using the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. The Coloring Challenge is a good excuse to find some YOU time. Kathy’s blog will have more info on the challenge.

I have two cards that provided a very relaxing watercolor session for the day.
So I wanted to play with the new Woodless Watercolor Pencil 24 Set from Altenew and I used the new Sparkled Stamp & Die Bundle.
I popped the large detailed image of the flower in my Mini MISTI, then spritzed it with clean water. Next, I took the watercolor pencils and colored the stamp itself then pressed it on my paper.  I repeated this process until I had enough of the pigment on my paper for my liking.  It was a quick way of getting a watercolor look without too much hassle and fuss.
Then I inked up the outline stamp and repeated the above process. Ending with coloring the stamped bloom with the pencils for more delicate detail. For the center of the bloom, I used the new Fine Liner pens, which I absolutely love from Altenew.  And I popped a little bit of white gel pen to give even more detail to the stamen centers. The coordinating die for quick cutting out of the bloom.
Then I took the new Eucalyptus Jar greenery inked those up and gave them a good spritz of water for the background. Stamped the leaves and splattered color around for more interest. Then I added some washi across the card panel and made a cute little tag with tassel. To complete the card I, embellished with a few sequins.

Featuring:
Sequins

For the second card I kept the inking very light on the layers of the sparkled stamp set. I switched up the washi tape for a nice light bloom.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and would love to know if  this technique is one that you would try . Remember to leave a comment below for chances to win prizes.
