Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Camellia Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

WOWWWZERS! Do I ever LOVE this months Paint-A-Flower!

I have the pleasure of living close to the Missouri Botanical Gardens in ST Louis, and can visit the Camellia House on dreary Winter days to enjoy living blooms that sing to my soul!

With Watercolor Brush Markers in hand, I stamped the Camellia image on Watercolor paper. Then painted first in a sloppy/messy style. Let it dry and added more details and depth to the berries and petals. Days later I added the color wash and splatters for the background.

The final step was Iridescent and Pure White Ink Spray splatter. The sentiment is inked with Obsidian Black ink. Oh, there is a kiss of Fine Liner Pen details for the stamen.

NeXT up is a little peek inside my craft space and how I store my Mini Crisp Ink Cubes...those are Tim Holtz tins with the names of each ink collection from Altenew from the Mini Ink Cube Label Decal Set. Washi tapes decorate the edges of the tins to give a quick color reference for what is inside.

Quiet Reflections Mini Ink Cube Labels Decal Set - Mini is a must have for

labeling the bottom of those cubes.

I am a huge fan of all the Decals, in the shop, because they make decorating /crafty stash organizing, super easy! Above are storage pouches, which hold extra Cover Die cuts, embellished with the new Choose Happiness Decal ... because even a clear pouch deserves a bit of HAPPY :)))

I'm thrilled to be part of the Build-A-Flower: Cora Louise Peony Release Blog Hop hosted by the Altenew Card Blog.

Build-A-Flower: Cora Louise Peony Layering Stamp & Die Set:

Mixing up Crips inks for these Build-A-Flower: Cora Louise Peonies, which I found to be very forgiving in lining up the layers.

I created two different backgrounds to layers these Peonies on. One is the stencil and the second is are Leaves from the set embossed for a hint of texture. Then a pop of Washi tape to bring it all together.

For this second card, I stamped all the BAF layers in yellow, then quickly inked a background with the stencil...moving it down the cardfront three times for a lovely pattern. Then I layered all on top of a second Background featuring the Buffalo Plaid Builder Stencil. Stencils are my favorite way to add interest on the edges peeking out from the focal point.
