I went out on a limb creating this card:) Those 'irises' are actually BEAUTIFUL BETTAS
I went out on a limb creating this card:) Those 'irises' are actually BEAUTIFUL BETTAS
When I first saw this stamp set, I thought it was a floral set.. it is not..but could be... those are fish tails. Inked with Soft Orchid, Orchid Crush, Grand Fuchsia, and Plum Wine.
- I LOVE the graceful images of grass. Swiped with Soft Garden and Bright Fern inks. Using the MISTI tool allowed for re-inking with the different greens.
- And the sentiment, KIND, FIERCE, BRAVE mini set is inked with Plum Wine and Smoky Quartz.
- Princess Glam Couture mix was the perfect embellishment.
- Trimmed the one layer card with Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large)
For my next card I used the LARGE DAHLIA 1.
This is a GORGEOUS bloom that comes in two sizes, perfect for coloring!
Practicing with alcohol markers, I played with some no-line coloring. Then I fussy cut the Large Dahlia and leaves
That spectacular background is the newest GWP set: Toned Squares. Inked with Soft Garden, Vanilla Frosted Cupcake and Beach Blonde
- Trimmed the Toned Squares panel down with Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small) and placed it onto an A2 card base
- Added several strips of Glitter tape and one strip of washi tape.
- Popped up the Dahlia with Foam tape and adhered the leaves in place.
- The small sentiment is from Nesting Peonies stamped onto a hand cut banner
- I finished by adding a few sequins from Cinderella's Ride Couture Mix
Enjoy the rest of the hop!

What a very clever change of use on the first one LauraJane, and then the gorgeously coloured Dahlia and the Toned Squares go perfectly. x
Great pairing of the squares and floral. At first glance I thought the Bettas were Irises!
Beautiful cards. Love the green & yellow
color palette and that gorgeous BG design.
I thought the fish were florals too when I first saw them so excited to see how you used them in this way. Also love the toned squares. Thanks for the inspiration.

The "iris/fish" is great...it is something that I possible would have done!
I think the images in the first card look like parrot tulips -- big, ruffled, and multi colored. Just lovely! The dahlia card is gorgeous -- love the use of the toned squares to make a background.
Your cards are so beautiful, Laura Jane! The first one is really innovative and the second one is just amazing! Looks so real. I love the background stamp, too.

Lovey cards. Beautiful coloring on the flower card! Thank you for sharing.
You uses of colors are vibrant and refreshing, which makes your centerpiece stand out, and the use of embedded layers makes your work alive
Great use of the Betta stamps. I at first thought they were a type of orchid, or even an Iris. This is such a fun stamp set. Your yellow dahlia is so realistic! I looks like one that blooms in our yard each summer. The toned squares are a wonderful background for it too. As a side note, I don't know if you are in touch with Renee, whose site I just came from, but I feel so bad as I couldn't find a way to leave a comment.
Gorgeous cards, I love the unique use of the beta stamp. So creative.
Wow! I'm totally in love for your stunning cards!!! Your colouring technique is amazing!!!
