Altenew : Refresh Your Watercolor Brush Markers Blog Hop + Giveaway + 2 Videos

Hello everyone I'm so excited to be joining in the ALTENEW blog hop celebrating their new Watercolor Brush Marker Refills so you can refresh your Watercolor Brush Markers anytime!
I have four projects for today's post, sharing several different ways that you can use your watercolor brushes as well as the refills themselves to add color to your various creations.

It's exciting to have these refills available because coloring with the watercolor brushes is so enjoyable. If you're joining us on the Blog Hop you can start at the Altenew Card Blog. Or if you are hopping from the beginning you should be arriving here from the Altenew Scrapbook Blog.

For my first project I used the Winter Wonderland Watercolor Brush Markers  on the Sketchy Floral stamp... which is a very large stamp set (6 x 8) The metallic silver watercolor brush gives extra shimmer and shine on the branches.

Featuring:
Antique Gold Pigment Ink for splatter
Copic Multiliner 0.1
Strathmore 140 lb watercolor paper
*** Click HERE: or the photo below to see a one minute video of my coloring process.
I have a full video up on my YouTube channel. Or watch below:

I'm not sure how to use this finished watercolor piece and can't decide if I want to trim it down to two separate cards or simply frame it as is..... Let me know in the comments below how you would recommend using it. :)

On the next card I share an easy technique that I really liked to use with the watercolor brush markers. Coloring a solid image stamp with a watercolor marker then stamping on 110lb paper. You may spritz the stamp with water for a more watery look. check my video to see the process.

Featuring:
Spring Garden Watercolor Brush Markers & Refill Bundle
Wildflower Garden stamp set
Obsidian Pigment Ink
*** Click HERE: or the photo below to see a one minute video of my coloring/stamping process.

The following card featured the Leaf Canopy stamp and die bundle with the Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush marker set. I colored very quickly on the canopy leaves and then embossed with the antique Gold embossing powder. die cut them with coordinating dies to pop them up on some pattern paper from Verdant Walk paper pack.
Featuring:
Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers
Leaf Canopy stamp and die bundle
Verdant Walk 6x6 Paper Pack
Antique Gold Pigment Ink
Antique Gold Crisp Embossing powder
Obsidian Pigment Ink
Bristol Smooth paper

I wanted to create something using the actual refill bottles for the final card, so I did not use the markers on this one, but took watercolor paper, brushed it with clear clean water, then chose various refill bottles of color and touched them to the wet paper. This created a kind of galaxy background!
I then heat embossed several leaves from the FOR ALL SEASONS stamp set on top of the colorful background and stamped the AUTUMN in black in for a mixed media card.   I did have a process video but unfortunately my camera malfunctioned and lost the footage.
 Featuring:
All Watercolor Brush Markers & Refills Bundle
For All Seasons stamp set
Antique Gold Crisp Embossing powder
Obsidian Pigment Ink
White Gel pen
Copic Multiliner 0.1
Mixed media paper

Thank you for joining me today,  I hope you are inspired to get your watercolor brushes out and create something you love today!  Your next stop on the hop is Maryam Perez

Oh my - your cards are so delicate and graceful. I love the way you showed an intensity of color without overdoing it. Thank you!

So much talent!

I love all your cards, each is unique. I think, rather than destroy any of the beauty of the first card, I would frame it. With the correct matting and frame, it would be perfect for your studio (if you are so lucky to have one) or as a gift for a loved one.

Hi LauraJane, Your cards are stunning! The filorals are so delicate and the card with the galaxy background is awesome. If I didn't know the blog hop was featuring the new refills I would have thought you used the Altenew washi tape on that one. Beautiful!

My goodness Laura Jane you sure have been busy whipping up some delicious looking cards. I adore your Winter wonderland card and its beauty of color and painting. In my prayers is a delicate array of petite flowers in a concoction of stunning colors. Congratulations card is pipping with smooth fall colors on a pale peach and your Autumn card is a masterpiece of colors and a dash of gold to bring out the flavor of the beauty within. Thank you for sharing all.

Each of your cards looks different from the other. You did a great job using the watercolor refills. I think for the first card, it's too lovely not to share either cut into 2 cards or trimmed for one large card. So pretty!

Great cards! Your flowers are painted beautifully and that last technique looks great.
