Build-A-Flower: Torch Ginger
I love this beautiful Torch flower, I believe it's from the Lily family. And the Build-A-Flower: Torch Ginger is one of the easier sets to line up. There are five layers to the bloom and four layers to the leaves.
For my first card:  I wanted to use all the layers minus the outlines stamping the bloom in Pocketful of Sunshine ....Then I went to Google and realized this flower doesn't come in yellow, travesty!... So I re-stamped each layer with Tea Party Crisp Ink collection,  only allowing some of  the yellow at the crown to show through. The MISTI tool made this a super easy task.  I absolutely love how it turned out!

Featuring:
Crisp Inks: Pocket full of Sunshine, Tea Party, Green Fields
*******
And for this next card: I actually captured the process on video.... and would love for you to watch at my YouTube channel to see how easy it is to add color loosely with the Essentials Watercolor set.  I heat embossed the outline images of the Torch Ginger Build-A-Flower with clear Embossing Powder..
The Essentials Watercolor set is perfect for this loose water coloring technique.

Check out my process video below:

It's hard to decide which I liked better! The green backgroud with the flower is so good, but I think the single flower is drop dead gorgeous!

WOWEE, this is so pretty---I am going to watch your video to see how you watercolored the last one. SO PRETTY!

I am not good at water coloring, so it was really helpful to watch your video. I agree, your placement looks like a water lily--that's what I thought before you even said it :) I like how you only covered from corner to corner with the green ink in the background. I have never thought to do that. THANK YOU for the video.

I am excited now to try my hand at water coloring. Your video was very well done and those helpful hints priceless. The ease of your presentation and watching your process made me feel at ease enough to think I might be able to use this technique. Both cards are very visually pleasing. I loved that you stamped on the leaf with a sentiment.

Annette Reed said...

This is lovely. I like the watercoloring. I should try it since I'm going to be doing a lot of flowers in the next few days.

Dawn J said...

I love the torch flower and the colors. While you money iive net starting it in the yellow colors, allowing a hint to shine through really "lit" up the flower. Beautiful.
