Build-A-Flower: Torch Ginger |
I love this beautiful Torch flower, I believe it's from the Lily family. And the Build-A-Flower: Torch Ginger is one of the easier sets to line up. There are five layers to the bloom and four layers to the leaves.
For my first card: I wanted to use all the layers minus the outlines stamping the bloom in Pocketful of Sunshine ....Then I went to Google and realized this flower doesn't come in yellow, travesty!... So I re-stamped each layer with Tea Party Crisp Ink collection, only allowing some of the yellow at the crown to show through. The MISTI tool made this a super easy task. I absolutely love how it turned out!
Featuring:
Crisp Inks: Pocket full of Sunshine, Tea Party, Green Fields
*******
And for this next card: I actually captured the process on video.... and would love for you to watch at my YouTube channel to see how easy it is to add color loosely with the Essentials Watercolor set. I heat embossed the outline images of the Torch Ginger Build-A-Flower with clear Embossing Powder..
The Essentials Watercolor set is perfect for this loose water coloring technique.

Great video! I love your idea of putting the sentiment on an extra leaf. Clever.
Love the sweet bold colors on the first card! The second shows it in the soft!! Love both!
It's hard to decide which I liked better! The green backgroud with the flower is so good, but I think the single flower is drop dead gorgeous!
Both your cards are fantastic. Thank you for the video on how you watercolored.

What beautiful cards! My fav is the first one, so bold and beautiful with the vibrant orange tones. Love!
Both cards are beautiful, but I can't help it, I'm always more partial to a watercolor look. Thanks for the video!

This flower is stunning as a water colour focal piece. Thanks for sharing.
WOW, girl, these are so beautiful! I love them both!
Both of your cards are beautiful. I love how the touch of yellow is so subtle on the first card
Lovely cards using this fabulous and unique flower.
Your 2nd card is stunning.
Beautiful!! When I lived in Hawaii we would go into the wooded area by our house and cut some of these AMAZING plants along with ti. . . Thank you for your beautiful projects and inspiration
Gorgeous! Love your water coloring.
I like how the yellow peeks through the top.
Amazingly beautiful cards! I was thrilled to see both cards. They’ve made my day. How inspirational.
WOWEE, this is so pretty---I am going to watch your video to see how you watercolored the last one. SO PRETTY!
I am not good at water coloring, so it was really helpful to watch your video. I agree, your placement looks like a water lily--that's what I thought before you even said it :) I like how you only covered from corner to corner with the green ink in the background. I have never thought to do that. THANK YOU for the video.
Love the watercolor designed card, very creative
Both cards are gorgeous, I really love the yellow peeking out of the top.
These are stunning! So bright and beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.
Such beautiful cards made with this set, never heard of this flower but it is real pretty. Love it x

Beautiful cards! Awesome color choices for this flower! And your video makes it all look so easy! Thank you!
Really like the way your watercolor technique brought the torch ginger to life.
Love the white line details on the first card, I'll have to keep it in mind & apply to my projects as well. Love the "thinking of you" card, The color combination and "seafoam blue" is truly inspiring!
So pretty! I'm especially drawn to the second card!
These are lovely. A wonderful job on the water coloring.
Lovely flowers! You make watercoloring look so easy.

Howdy. I found you through Altenew's page to see how you've used their Build-a-Flower: Torch Ginger stamp set. What a pop. Very nice.

Love that card! Those watercolors look beautiful with this stamp set!
Hi from Iowa! Absolutely beautiful! Now I must go and add more to my wish list! You have inspired me with the torch ginger!
I love a stamp where you can both layer it and color it. These are just beautiful!
Gorgeous cards! Love your coloring working!
I can't believe that this flower does not come 8n yellow. It's so cheery. But out of a travesty...beauty. just gorgeous! Please stay safe and healthy!
Two so different and both so lovely!!
Both gorgeous cards. I love the soft, dreamy water coloured look of the second card. But that bold, warm red flower in the first card is breath taking!
Beautiful cards! I love the touch of yellow on the flowers and I think it would be lovely in just the yellows.
I really love the watercolor look of the second card :)
Beautiful cards. I Like the vibrant colors on the first and the loose watercolor on the second.
Super beautiful floral cards! The first one is just gorgeous! <3
These are so gorgeous!! I love how you stamped the "you" in colors that match the image! Such a great little detail.
Wow stunning cards and the yellow showing through was definitely a perfect mistake!
Stunning cards!! Love the bold color on the first card.
I am excited now to try my hand at water coloring. Your video was very well done and those helpful hints priceless. The ease of your presentation and watching your process made me feel at ease enough to think I might be able to use this technique. Both cards are very visually pleasing. I loved that you stamped on the leaf with a sentiment.
This is lovely. I like the watercoloring. I should try it since I'm going to be doing a lot of flowers in the next few days.
I love the torch flower and the colors. While you money iive net starting it in the yellow colors, allowing a hint to shine through really "lit" up the flower. Beautiful.
Love your design!
Gorgeous creations!
