Altenew November 2018 Stamp/Die/Ink/Sticker Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
It's time for a NEW RELEASE at Altenew and I'm thrilled to be on the BLOGHOP roster! If you are hopping from the beginning you should be arriving from Agnieszka Malyszek's blog.
The Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set was a must have for me. When I was younger, many afternoons were spent collecting those "Wish Flowers" and scattering the seeds like so many dancing fairies on the wind. How fun it was to re-create that wistful look for my next card :)
I found the card above to be wanting more color....so I removed the sentiment banner and embellishments then set to adding/experimenting with the Watercolor Brush Markers - Spring Garden Set. The cardfront below is what came from using almost EVERY color in the set! Yes, It was that FUN! Then I heat embossed a sentiment in GOLD.
Not being one to let well enough alone, I went out on a limb to create a second card, or "MIRROR IMAGE WASH" of the richly pigmented cardfront above.....I was thrilled with what I came up with :) I'm so glad I took a chance to try this out.
Here is a quick 2 minute video sharing the process of making the 'MIRROR IMAGE WASH' by spritzing water on the watercolored INKED ROSE cardfront above, smoshing a piece of Bristol Smooth watercolor paper on top and ending up with a BEAUTIFUL second card with very little effort! ***You can watch below or in HD on my YouTube channel.
To finish each card front I dabbed the edges with Embossing Ink and sprinkled GOLD embossing powder and heat set. Matted each with OLIVE watercolored paper, keeping them simple.
I did go back and touch up the colors of the above card after spritzing..a kiss of Copic Opaque White helped get the highlights back on the petals after the colors ran together, see the video to understand what I mean..
I thought a double matte looked nice with the MIRROR IMAGE WASHED cardfront. The sentiment is HALF embossed in GOLD and a few Flicks of water and GOLD EP adds more depth and interest, as well as a hint of Artist Markersto define some petals.
***And I could not let a New Release go without stitching something :) So Grateful to be able to share with you!

Wow, Love all the cards. But the dandelion card had me floored. That has to be my favorite stamp set in this release. I can't wait to get it. Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration.
love the everything in this release and all your fabulous projects and as always I appreciate you including a stitch project! Thanks for the inspiration Laura Jane!
I forgot there were acorns in the release, you were first I've seen them along the hop. You've done a great job on them and the stitching, and thank you very, very much for the fine video that always is a big help to me.
All of the cards were gorgeous, but that mirror image one was amazing! I would have been so scared to attempt something like that! It turned out like an Impressionist painting though. Love!!!
Very creative and gorgeous cards. Who knew that such a beautiful card could be created using stickers and dies. It is stunning. I love the dandelion card because it reminds me of my youth and the acorn card is so pretty. It ushers in Autumn for me. Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us.
Another great group of cards from you....all very unique and creative. My fave is the card from the dandelion wishes set, because that's one of my favorites from this new release.
Wow! This is one of my favorite stops on the hop! Your projects are so unique and so beautiful! Your dandelion card is SENSATIONAL!! (My fell open when I saw it, seriously!) And I love the way you used the stickers to make the first card. Really pretty!! (I have those stickers on my wish list. Do you know how many you get??) Thanks for sharing your designs! Your cards are amazing.
It’s a fabulous release and I have already received my order so I’m extremely grateful to you and the rest of the Design Team members for the wonderful inspiration you have created. Your cards are really beautiful. I especially love the Inked Rose Cards. They are absolutely gorgeous.
Wow! what a collection of creations. I can't believe how fabulous you made the stickers look -- that video was a terrific education. The whole thing was amazing. And I LOVE the dandelion stamps and card. And just about everything else. . .
ALL of your projects are amazing! I love how the two Christmas cards are not traditional. And the dandolion card looks like the seeds are floating. But all of the other cards and the embroidery are amazing too!
You are so talented and inspiring!! Am your avid fan and am just overwhelmed with all the beauty in today's cards! And how clever and GORGEOUS with your watercolored inked rose cards!!!
There are so many great stamps in this release and you have made such amazing projects with them - I think I'm in love with the little acorn though - and I just love your beautiful little embroidery project!
Beautiful creations, so amazing in styles & colours. The dandelion card actually looks like one of those stunning natural wildflower photographs you get, I had to double look, magnificent. Thank you.
You always go the extra mile with your cards. What a clever (and brave!) idea to get a second print of your watercolor. I don't think I would have had the guts to go through with it after spending all that time getting the coloring right. But it was worth it; the print has a dreamy quality that is just lovely. And your stitching is always a treat. Thanks for sharing so many ideas with us!
What a fabulous release! I absolutely love the engraved flowers and handpicked bouquet stamp sets & the leaf medallion die! As usual you have so many lovely card examples & your stitching is gorgeous!
