Altenew November 2018 Stamp/Die/Ink/Sticker Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

It's time for a NEW RELEASE at Altenew and I'm thrilled to be on the BLOGHOP roster! If you are hopping from the beginning you should be arriving from Agnieszka Malyszek's blog.
This release not only has STAMPS and DIES, but 16 New Crisp Ink colors and 5 different rolls of STICKERS too!

You check out the full November 2018 New release Here.

Here is my first project :)
I used the Vintage Florals Stickers to create a Quick and easy card with dies only, no stamping on this one.

I found that the Halftone Circle Nesting dies work perfectly to create a clean matting for the small stickers and the Fine Frames Circles Die adds the hint of gold needed to make the circles pop! Other dies used: Creative Edges: Lace Die, and Cross Stitch Canvas Die
Here is a video introducing 4 of the 5 new sticker packs and how I made the card.
You can watch below or in HD on my YouTube channel.

*******
The Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set was a must have for me.  When I was younger, many afternoons were spent collecting those "Wish Flowers" and scattering the seeds like so many dancing fairies on the wind. How fun it was to re-create that wistful look for my next card :)

*******

Both Engraved Flowers Stamp Set and the Kind Confetti Stamp Set grace the next two cards I created for Christmas cards.

I just LOVE the GOLDEN EDGE WASHI TAPE for a hint of sparkle!
The card below has more sparkle from the STARRY NIGHT stamp set and Gold embossing.
*******
The next 3 cards feature the gorgeous new INKED ROSE stamp set. Similar to the Inked FLORAL from a previous release, the INKED ROSE stamp set has so many more sentiments to choose from.
  • For my first card I simply heat embossed the INKED ROSE and leaves with black EP onto Arches 140# watercolor paper.
  • Added a sentiment banner embossed in Silver EP
  • A strip of SILVER washi tape iunderneath to help it stand out
  • Matted it onto OLIVE watercolored paper
  • Sprinkled a few sequins.
I found the card above to be wanting more color....so I removed the sentiment banner and embellishments then set to adding/experimenting with the Watercolor Brush Markers - Spring Garden Set. The cardfront below is what came from using almost EVERY color in the set! Yes, It was that FUN! Then I heat embossed a sentiment in GOLD.
Not being one to let well enough alone, I went out on a limb to create a second card, or "MIRROR IMAGE WASH" of the richly pigmented cardfront above.....I was thrilled with what I came up with :)  I'm so glad I took a chance to try this out.

Here is a quick 2 minute video sharing the process of making the 'MIRROR IMAGE WASH' by spritzing water on the watercolored INKED ROSE cardfront above, smoshing a piece of Bristol Smooth watercolor paper on top and ending up with a BEAUTIFUL second card with very little effort!
***You can watch below or in HD on my YouTube channel.

To finish each card front I dabbed the edges with Embossing Ink and sprinkled GOLD embossing powder and heat set. Matted each with OLIVE watercolored paper, keeping them simple.
I did go back and touch up the colors of the above card after spritzing..a kiss of Copic Opaque White helped get the highlights back on the petals after the colors ran together, see the video to understand what I mean..

I thought a double matte looked nice with the MIRROR IMAGE WASHED cardfront. The sentiment is HALF embossed in GOLD and a few Flicks of water and GOLD EP adds more depth and interest, as well as a hint of Artist Markers to define some petals.
*******
And my final card has the adorable new acorns from the GRATEFUL stamp and die set.
I love the detail in teh simple layers in this set. I inked them with COFFEE BREAK mini cube set., with a hint of Paper Bag crisp ink for the acorn caps.
Other supplies used:
Halftone Circle Nesting dies
Forever and a Day Stamp & Die Bundle
Label Love stamp set
Antique GOLD embossing powder
Olive Crisp ink

You always go the extra mile with your cards. What a clever (and brave!) idea to get a second print of your watercolor. I don't think I would have had the guts to go through with it after spending all that time getting the coloring right. But it was worth it; the print has a dreamy quality that is just lovely. And your stitching is always a treat. Thanks for sharing so many ideas with us!
