Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Poppy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway +Video

Hello friends!
Altenew has an exciting new monthly subscription feature this year called Paint-A-Flower (PAF).. similar to the Build-A-Flower (BAF). There will be a new outline flower stamp set each month that can be painted to practice your watercoloring skills. AND just because it says paint doesn't mean we can't color it as well with Artist Markers!

I'm honored to be guest designing for this first Paint-A-Flower Blog Hop starting on the Altenew Blog! Introducing the PAF:Poppy!

I have three cards created using three different coloring mediums.
As I'm still learning to use watercolors, I wanted to begin by painting with the 36 pan set from Altenew. Then I used the watercolor brush markers, and finally, I wanted to show a third option of no-line coloring using the Artist Markers.
So to have a true comparison of mediums, I tried to stick with the same colors from each: Watercolor pans, Watercolor Brush, and Artist Markers. Altenew has the unique system throughout their coloring mediums where everything has same name referring to colors throughout their product line

Take a closer look at each card:

For this first card I used the Watercolors from the 36 pan set after heat embossing the PAF:POPPY as well as several leaves in Black. Then I fussy cut around the poppy and leaves and popped them onto a background stenciled with the Square Weave Pattern Stencil.

Colors used from the 36 Pan set:
Fresh Lemon
Sunkissed
Purple Wine
Mountain Mist
Sea Glass
Bamboo
Evergreen
 *******
This next one is Colored with the Artist Markers in the No-line coloring technique after first stamping the PAF:POPPY in Buttercream Crisp ink.

Warm Sunshine
Sunkissed
Purple Wine
Mountain Mist
Sea Glass
Bamboo
Evergreen
*******
And for the last one, I used the Watercolor Brush Markers to color a wild bunch of PAF:POPPIES.

Fresh Lemon
Sunkissed
Purple Wine
Turquoise
Lime
Sweet Leaf

I have a VIDEO capture of these poppies :) You can watch below or on my YouTube channel.

These are all beautiful and it's fun to see the results from different mediums. I was especially interested in the techniques using the watercolor markers since I just purchased some recently. Thanks for the video and this Paint-A-Flower series is perfect for trying different techniques.

I don't know if I could choose a best between the three cards. Each background and trim color gives each card a different look. It would probably be the last one though.
