CALLING ALL ARTISTS - SPECIAL CHALLENGE

Hello!
Excited to join in the CALLING ALL ARTISTS - SPECIAL CHALLENGE at Ellen Hutsons PIN-SIGHTS CHALLENGE.
I can do that:)) having just received new goodies to play with, I thought it the perfect opportunity to try them out:)) This one uses ALTENEW's  FLORAL SHADOW and REMEMBER THIS sets along with MANY THANKS from EH.

Never one to simply stamp one layer for an image, I grabbed some tiny stamps from the REMEMBER THIS set to add quick details to each bloom from the FLORAL SHADOW.
The Altenew Crisp Inks blend beautifully:))

  • Buttercream, Warm sunshine and Rouge for the blooms.
  • Frayed Leaf and Forest Glad on the leaves.

HA Copper EP makes the Word die POP!! and I could not resist adding dots of irRESISTible copper for extra flair:)) as well as Copper metallic thread for a touch of charm.

I hear there is a NEW RELEASE on it's way soon from Essentials By Ellen ...SO EXCITED about that!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a glimpse

Hello! Welcome to Monday:))
After yesterday's post I received a question about the Tins that my inks are stored in. So I thought I could share just a glimpse of my craft space..ie, my favorite room in my home:)) It's Pinterest inspired, eclectic at best... and I LOVE IT!

Do you spy the young boy diligently writing???  This room also happens to be what we call the "schoolroom" because it's the room that the school books, maps and mamma's toys live in. The kids can do their work while I "play/create". It's a WIN-WIN:))

This is the marker/brush/small cubed ink area:) I do share my toys with the kiddos.
My small ink cubes are in those handy tins right above the three drawers, I have the tins labeled by color and company; according to the washi tape.
Distress inks: Solid line
PTI inks: Striped
Altenew inks:Floral

Twelve cubes fit inside a tin very cozily.
Just like chocolate bon-bons:))

Now for a peek of a WIP..work in progress, going on my IG stream today.
Jennifer Mcguire is continuing her KINDNESS campaign and is collaborating with HoneyBee Stamps. My project has a new Word die and uses several sentiment builder sets for a fun mixed media card.

I'd love for you to follow me on Instagram. where I  post something almost every day, as it is very EASY to do compared to this blog...
(Blogging is not my favorite. Typing in NOT my friend. Just sayin')

Thanks for stopping by!!
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I DO enjoy hearing from you:))

HUGS,

Papertrey Ink SAF 2016 REMIX

Hello! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!  It has been a productive one for me.
Since I didn't have time to create a card utilizing Pointillism Play with Heather Nichols last weekend for Stamp-A-Faire 2016, I  wanted to give it a go for the Re-Mix challenge.
Finding the "dot Stamps" was a bit of a treasure hunt:))
In the end, I found the best sets for the task to be Reasons to Smile and Painted Petals.
The more layers of dots simply added to the depth of color and Light areas.
I did make a mask for the bloom and stem, then stamped the background Halo.

And here is the completed card:))

I really enjoyed this Pointillism Play technique as it is forgiving in the layers of dots...start light and then go dark.

Coloring at The Ton

Hello Friday:)) I'm over at The Ton Blog sharing a card I colored using The Happiest Of Peonies set for the last couple of days for the 30 day coloring challenge with Kathy Rac on my instagram. There has been so much inspiration with this challenge. I found these peonies were the perfect stamp to color a little bit each day:))

  • I started out with Hampton White Pigment ink on Neenah Desert Storm Kraft CS.
  • Set the HEAT tool on it for few minutes
  • Then grabbed the Spectrum Noir Aqua markers
Here is a sneak peak of the finished card:))

I LOVE how it turned out!
Hop over to The Ton to see the progression.

Thanks for stopping by!
And thank you for your sweet encouraging comments:)

August Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello!
There's a new Challenge at STAMPlorations.
I used a small portion from a page in the new COLOR BLOOMS COLORING BOOK as the focalpoint for my card.  And the SMILE word die.
Here is my card:

After coloring the page with Ziggys I cut the rectangle out with the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies . Then adhered it to a cardbase that was stenciled with Botanical Lush. Added some Happy little splatters and Washi. Finished the whole thing off with a  SMILE word die colored with coordinating Distress inks.

I followed the Sketch for August.

Simple Smile at HoneyBee stamps

Happy Thursday! which means I'm over at HoneyBee Stamps sharing a simple card using the new SMILE builder set and COLOR MY WORLD.
There are four NEW stamp sets, and Honey Cuts (Dies) to go with all previous sets!
Here is a SNEAK PEEK of what I have for you today.
In photo below, you can see just a hint of a Family Treasure I found while going through some linens at my Grandma Mary's, who past away in January at the good age of 94.
That treasure my dear readers, is a rare Tatted doily from my Great Grandma Bessy:)) Mastering the art of Tatting was something I always hoped to achieve but found the elusive "flip" of the shuttle and thread was not inherited by me.

You can stop by the  HoneyBee blog to see the rest of the card and MORE of the tatting:))

Essentials by Ellen July Pin-Sights Challenge

Hello!
After all the coloring I have been doing for The  Daily Marker 30 day Challenge. I felt like doing a bit of papercrafting for the Essentials by Ellen July Pin-Sights Challenge.

I used  Mondo Magnolia by Julie Ebersole with My Minds Eye papers. The center flourish die cut is from Wild Garden and the sentiment Many Thanks is also from by Julie Ebersole. The Waffle Flower Circle Doily added a soft touch to the Magnolia:)) Red polka-dot washi is Doodlebug.

Here is the Red/White and Blue inspiration photo for the challenge.

If you have any Essentials by Ellen products this other challenge is for YOU!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Waffle Flower August Challenge

HAPPY Monday!!
I find it hard to believe we are in August already, but here we are:))
There is a new challenge at Waffle Flower Crafts.
The colors in the inspiration photo inspired my card for today.

  • I created a pattern background using the SNAIL MAIL and FLUTTER stamp sets.  Double stamping the butterflies for more interest and quickly adding some coloring to the snails.
  • Once again the LACY LAYERS provided me with a sweet frame as well as DOLIY SQUARE.
  • The coordinating dies from SNAIL MAIL layered beautifully with the sentiment from LACY FLOWER stamp set.

I do hope this encourages you to play along. The link will be open until the 25th of this month.

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink JULY 2016 BLOG HOP

Hello Monday!!
Having the Papertrey Ink JULY 2016 BLOG HOP is the PERFECT way to start out the week:)) After the activities of STAMP-A-FAIRE 2016 it is only fitting to continue the creativity, extend the party so to speak. I actually missed all the live Stamp-A-Faire fun, but had some time yesterday to go through several of the videos and visit the galleries. Tons of PTI inspiration there:)

For my card to day I chose to use the Watercoloring Technique shared by Kay Miller..see her very first video here. SAF 2016: WATERCOLOR LIKE A MASTER WITH KAY MILLER. She did an exceptional job. I hope she makes more!
Here is my card:

  • I had difficulty with the inks moving when I added water the first time around on Distress paper,  So I gave it another go with watercolor paper from a MIM kit and had much more success!
  • Nostalgic Notions is the stamp set I used for the flowers.
  • To get the color wash as I liked, i simply added a bit more ink on a wet brush directly from the ink pad,
  • To finish, I added just a touch of a Stencil from the Woodblock Prints collection.
  • The Black matting is from the Noted: Scalloped A2 Die collection selectively cut and flipped to get the fourth side to be scalloped.
  • I added some washi to bring in the graphic elements from the HOP inspiration photo.

If you have not looked into all the  STAMP-A-FAIRE 2016 videos I encourage you to take time and even Bookmark it for future reference. It is Filled to the top with Artsy techniques on trend for card making and other projects as well.
