Inspired By All the Little Things #71

Gorgeous new Inspiration on the Inspired By All the Little Things Blog today!
Loving the pop of RED and WHITE on black:) I used several sets Designed by DAWN MCVEY from PTI. ***There is an extra special hop going on for her HERE, as she is recovering from an organ transplant.*** Sending many HUGS and Prayers for a smooth recovery!

Here's my card:

Blooms from VINTAGE LINENS are colored with white pencil after the outlined images were heat embossed onto black CS. Then I Ironed-off the embossing and Heat embossed the  LEAVES in Black EP. O HOLY NIGHT  has the BEST Christmas sentiments! Choosing one was difficult:)) I decided to Heat emboss it in White EP and added a black EP frame accent using the CENTER STYLE: FEMININE stamp set.
Next I tried some FRENCH KNOTS for the center of the blooms...Jennifer McGuire has a Great post here, sharing how easy it is to add a touch of stitching to cards:))
And STEPHANIE GOLD inspired me to add ribbon in a non-Bow type way at MIM#302 at PTI this week.
Matted the finished black card front onto a coordinating red base and called it done:))

Our special Guest Designer this week at Inspired By is Colleen Foelker from One Smile Lifts A Spirit.

WE LOVE Dawn McVey Bloghop

Hello!! and welcome, today I'm participating in a Blog Hop honoring Dawn McVey. Sending some Cheer as she is recovering from an organ Transplant.  Thank you Vicki Finger for inviting me:)

Dawn was one of the first card designers that I started following...I love her color choices and we share the same passion for flowers:))
MANY hugs and Prayers for healing Dawn!

I created a Background using Enclosed:STAR mini stamp set in inks shades that are Dawn's favorites to use:) Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal. Then Stamped and cut a pretty cluster of blooms and leaves with Vintage Linens stamps and coordinating dies. The sentiment is from HAPPY FOR YOU mini stamp set.

It was fun looking back over my blog posts looking for Dawn's Stamps and Die Designs in cards that I have made over the years:))  I decided a CARD PARADE was in order. I LOVE A PARADE, don't you?  ENJOY:)

Theme and Sketch challenge at STAMPlorations

There's a NEW Theme and Sketch challenge at STAMPlorations:)
THEME

SKETCH

I chose to go with the SKETCH for my card today using:

First I smooshed some SHIMMERZ SPRITZ COTTON CANDY on an A2 size cardfront and trimmed it with the largest Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle die.  Then I stamped several Trendy Leaves onto 110# CS and cut out the Shaker Balloons #1 HEART.
Danced around the balloons with a touch of Gold Thread and popped two of them up with Foam tape:)  Stamped the sentiment Discover in the same inks as the leaves..Bamboo, Autumn Orange, Razzelberry, and Rubellita Crisp Inks.
Hope you give the THEME and SKETCH Challenge a try at STAMPlorations!!

November Cue Word Challenge at The Ton

There's a NEW challenge at THE TON CHALLENGE BLOG.
CUE WORD: HOLIDAY
So, I was thinking THANKSGIVING and HARVEST for my first holiday card.
The CLOSE-UP ROSE cling was so fun to color with ZIGS and Colored Pencils. I accented the large ROSE with a green sprig from Rose Bouquet and a sentiment from

Autumn Wishes.

Embellished with Glitter tape and CINDERELLA"S RIDE couture mix:))

For my next one I wanted to get started on some Christmas cards:))
Utilizing a FAUX Letterpress technique shared by Jennifer McGuire.
  • I cut 2 layers of the Poinsettia Banner Coordinating Die from cardstock and ONE layer from Vellum.
  • Stacked/Glued them together and inked the vellum with Diamond Blue ink and laid them onto a piece of White a2 sized paper
  • I ran this through my BIGKICK with a tan Embossing Mat which presses the stacked die cuts and ink into the paper, giving the look of letterpress.
  • I then took the Poinsettia Banner stamp and placed it onto the pressed image and with THREE passes of the Diamond Blue ink using the MISTI tool for perfect placement
  • The sentiment is inked with CALI BLUE ink.

For my very first try at the Die cut Letterpress technique, I misplaced the die cut stack, UUGH..Centering is not my forte'  Instead of tossing it, I cut the inked image out and popped it up onto a card panel trimmed with the Rectangle Double Stitched die.

Here's to helping you get started on your Holiday cards and join the challenge:))
Hope to see you join the fun at The Ton Challenge!

October Release Blog Hop at The Ton

Hello and welcome to my stop of the The Ton's October Release BlogHop. If hopping from the beginning, you should be arriving from Jenny's blog..
My Teammate Eunji has designed many of the new stamps. She is So very talented:)))  It has been a pleasure coloring the florals...I'm THRILLED that Effie has collaborated  with Eunji to make the designs into Clear Stamp form.  There are SO many gorgeous new bloom sets to work with...deciding on one was difficult. I decided to create with LOOSE ROSES for today's hop.

Here's my card:
I started out by stamping a panel with Wishful Rose

in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake Dyetrimmed it with the largest Double Stitched Rectangle Dies and set it aside for layering later.
Then I did some No-Line coloring with the leaves and blooms of LOOSE ROSES on Bristol Smooth watercolour paper using the Zig Clean Color Markers. You can see a quick video I shared on Instagram of the leaves being colored. click HERE to view.

I wanted the arrangement to be fuller and more airy, so I added several bits of Pragmatic Wreaths, which I stamped using the Mini MISTI and more watercolor markers.

I cut the Blooms, Leaves and Bits of Wreath out with Coordinating Dies. And assembled them onto a clean White panel trimmed down to 3.25"x4.75" using. I cut 3 layers to lift it up off the main stamped panel. Sentiment is stamped with Aspen Cocoa Dye.

Hope you liked my card.   Enjoy the rest of the HOP:))

Inspired By challenge #69

Inspired by the ORANGE pumpkins and wildflowers, I reached for the Fresh Cut Carnations and Large Florals: Carnation from The Ton.
I tried out a "new to me" masking technique shared by Lydia Evans.. Using CLEAR Heat embossing over a stamped image for the mask. It worked very well, and no fussy cutting necessary:))
Trimmed the panel with Crazy Double stitched rectangle die.  Added the HUGS word die and a few Nuvo Drops.
