Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 4 + Giveaway

Happy Friday Everyone! Today I am excited to be a part of the 5th Year Celebration at ALTENEW.
You should have arrived from my fellow guest designer, TaeEun Yoo! It appears that You have made it to the NEXT to the last stop on Day 4 of the Bloghop:)) Thank you for stopping in today.  Have you enjoyed the past three days of inspiration as much as I have?

I have a couple of projects featuring many favorite Altenew products to celebrate the Five years of Papercrafting Goodness!

This first one is a card featuring one of my favorite floral stamp sets released last year.
Inked Floral bundle colored with the Watercolor Brush Markers to resemble a succulent.

I've layered several papers from Verdant Walk 6x6 Paper Pack to highlight the watercolored bloom. And utilizing skills learned in several Altenew Academy Classes, I die-cut then rotated the bloom for an interesting peak at the pretty papers beneath.
The Signature Words Die Set is is always an elegant choice for a quick sentiment.

The florals from Altenew are so lovely, they deserve to be used for so much more than just Papercraft projects!!

HOOP ART:

Did you know that stamps can be used as patterns for simple to complex embroidery art?   Last year I endeavored to learn a few stitches to stretch my stamps and create home decor.

My hoop art features stamps from Floral Frame, Floral Motifs, and Doodle Blooms.

If you are interested in Stitching up some projects yourself, I have listed Links below for you to check out.

Stitching takes time, yet it's an easy project to take on the go and can be as relaxing as coloring!

I thought this looked like the letter C for Celebration! Perfect for the festivities at Altenew this week:))

Congratulations Altenew! Here's to many more creative Years with products to influence our crafting addiction!!

****Your next stop on the hop is to Sandra Dietrich!

STAMPlorations April Theme & Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday Friends! Hope your week has been a productive one, filled with sunshine:)
Today I have a card made for the STAMPlorations April Theme & Sketch Challenge. The card features the Theme for the month of April.

THEME:

SKETCH:

I simply stamped the lovely butterfly from It's a Girl Thing, onto Arches Cold Press watercolor paper and colored with the Altenew 36 pan watercolor set. Then added the Greenery and sentiment around the colored butterfly. The greenery Branches needed a bit of careful masking to add a few more bits and berries extending at the top. I found that small snips in the acrylic stamp allowed for more curved placement/positioning. (All images were inked with the lightest yellow ink I could find..Buttercream is my go-to.)

As you can see, I decided to add a wash of yellow as an afterthought...Which way do you like it? With or without the yellow background.
I really enjoyed water-coloring the images for this card! The 000 size brush made it easier to add the tiny details found in the stamped image.

Watercolors used:

Pink Diamond, Coral Berry, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, Industrial Diamond, Forest Glades, Frayed Leaf, Bamboo

Looking forward to seeing what you Create for this month's challenge at STAMPlorations!

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet Release Blog Hop + Giveaway +Video

Hello everyone and Happy First of April! Feeling honored to be on the BlogHop list sharing the new Release from Altenew! If you are hopping along from the beginning of the, you should be arriving from the blog of Svitlana Shayevich.

I'm excited to share the newest Build-A-Flower stamp and die set with you today. It is called SWEET VIOLET, and it lives up to it's name...Super Sweet:)
Take a look:
Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet
On the back of the packaging there is a layering guide for ease of stamping all the layers.
Layering Guide

For my first card, I stamped the outline layers of both SWEET VIOLET blooms and the leaf image with Silver Lake Crisp Ink onto watercolor cardstock. Then colored with the the Watercolor Brush Markers, and Artist Markers. The Dies in the set make cutting out a snap! Then I created a spring Posie layered into a freestyle collage of hearts, lace border and washi tape.

I love how the Dots in Maple Washi Tape coordinates with the yellow paper from the Celebrations 6x6 Paper Pack for my sentiment banner! The word lovely is fussy cut out to add interest.
I created several frames with the Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set by placing two dies together and cutting at teh same time. The Floral Heart Frame Die is snuggled in the center, and I gently folded a few of the Floral Heart Frame branches up to pop out of the arrangement.

Supplies list:
Artist Markers Set E, for the Tropical Forest greens
