STAMPlorations Theme and Sketch December Challenge

Hello everyone! Today I have a card created for the December Theme & Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations.

When I saw the Theme: Stamps and Big Words..I reached for
A Gem - Say It Big Series.

And when I noticed the Sketch, I chose to color the In Bloom: FANCY FRANGIPANIS.. because of the swirls:)) Now, I didn't go rainbow, but I thought of peppermints to make it more Holiday feeling:)) Flowers can be like candy, right?

So, here's my card:
It was quite simple,

  • Heat set Silver embossing powder with the A Gem stamp set onto watercolor paper
  • Then lightly linked In Bloom: FANCY FRANGIPANIS  over the top, because of the embossing powder, anything that was over the top of the big words wiped off
  • Then I used my watercolor markers to color the whole thing in.
  • Trimmed the panel down with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies and
  • Added some splatters, Wink of Stella for a touch of sparkle on the "peppermints" and called it done!

Using:

I hope you take some time to create something to link up at STAMPlorations this month!
Have a Blessed Christmas season :)

Altenew December 2018 Markers/Embellishments Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to my stop on the hop celebrating the release of Altenew's December 2018 Markers and Embellishments. I am honored to share my creations with you today. If you are hopping from the beginning, you should be arriving from the blog of  the lovely Lydia Evans! ( the full hop list is at the end of this post)

I'm extremely excited to see the release of more Artist Markers since they are the only alcohol markers that I have been able to use. Other brands have such strong fumes that give me headaches and hives when using them. And the blending solutions; forget about it! However, I have not had any problems with the Altenew Artist Markers, YAY! NO Fumes, No headaches, no hives..just HAPPY coloring!
Here are the two new sets and the blender marker:
Artist Markers Colorless Blender
Artist Markers Set E
Artist Markers Primary Colors Set
Here are three cards I colored for today's Bloghop featuring Artist Markers Set E on the Inked Flora and Inked Rose stamp sets.

*******
I first started out by coloring the smaller bloom from Inked Flora in my normal flicky-color-mashing style and no colorless blender:

LOVING the many shades of Orange in this Artist Marker set E which are named and coordinate with the Warm and Cozy Crisp Ink set. The Greens coordinate with Tropical Forest Crisp Ink set, and the Grays coordinate with Rock Collection Crisp Inks set.
I colored the Leafy Wreath die and cut it apart for filler to go along with the greenery for my arrangement.Which I layered onto an A2 panel covered with Tuxedo Washi Tape and embellished with acetate flourish from Reflection Collection Die Cuts. The SMILE button popped out of a wooden embellishment from the Reflection Collection Epoxy Buttons & Wood Veneer Bundle.
*******
Speaking of Scrapbook embellishments, here are the NEWEST release of  Enamel Dots, Die-Cut Butterfly stickers, Acetate Butterflies, and Year Round word Acetate die-cuts.

Embellishment Bundle

My next card has the largest bloom from Inked Flora colored with the Artist Markers and the Colorless Blender
Learning to use the Colorless Blender was an interesting process! It was interesting how I could start with R823 and blend it with R702, R318, and Y608 to get a deep burgundy! It was fun mixing the colors to see what I could come up with.
Other Altenew supplies used:
Leaves and 'buds'Inked Rose stamp set
LOVE from Reflection Collection Die Cuts
Heart texture on white panel Sewn with Love Die Set
Gold rings: Fine Frames Circles Die
Black branches: Create-A-Wreath Die Set
Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder

*******
More Colorless Blender play on the Inked Rose stamp set for my last card today :
This time I colored with the new Oranges, Grays and several Yellows from Artist Marker set B.
LOVING the Dotted Washi Tape as a quick background and my FAVORITE Dots in Maple Washi TapeEpic is fromReflection Collection Die Cuts
*******
Well, I certainly enjoyed coloring with the new markers!
I have a quick video sharing the unique packaging of the new Artist markers, making it easy to store them horizontally. You can watch the video below, on on my YouTube Channel in HD.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Poppy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello Altenew fans, it's December 1st :) and the most beautiful (in my opinion) Buid-A-Flower set is being released today! Introducing the BAF:POPPY.
Beautiful Poppies dancing in the breeze:)
Prizes:
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win. Five winners will be announced on the Card Blog on 12/9/2018.

Build-A-Flower: Poppy
The layers are SCRUMPTIOUS on these Poppy images! Several tiny outline flowers with leaf clusters are a nice addition to the bold size of the two POPPIES in the set.! And I adore the sentiments;)
Take a look at the multi-step layering guide below. This really is a simple set to line up, achieving two different sizes of detailed poppy blooms.

Poppy Layering Guide

Here are two cards that I created with the Buid-A-Flower:POPPY

To make the card:
  1. Yellow Poppy: Peach Perfect, Citrus Burst, Warm Sunshine, Parrot, and Olive for the center
  2. Two Peachy Poppies: Caramel Toffee, Sunkist, Peach Perfect + Blush, Fresh Lemon, Honey Drizzle, and Parrot for the center
  3. Stems and Leaves: mix of Parrot, Bamboo, and olive
  • Then die-cut them out using the coordinating dies.
  • The tiny flower clusters are heat embossed with Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder. Even those lovelies have coordinating dies to make it easier to cut out:) YAY!!
  • quickly colored them in with the Artist Markers.
  • Then popped the Poppies and several stems onto a White cardfront trimmed to 4" x 5.25" that had the Kind Confetti Stamp Set heat embossed with Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder as well. Then matted it with an A2 panel with edges ombre colored with Artist Markers to perfectly match the fresh poppies!
  • Selectively inked the sentiment with Corral Berry and heat embossed BLOOMIN' in Gold, trimmed it to a thin strip and snuggled it under the leaves and stems

My next card was inspired by the lovely Therese Calvird and her card from this video, using an Embossed with Dies technique, which gives an elegant look, but is most difficult to photograph!
You can see a hint of  the Embossed with Dies technique in the photo below.

To make the card:
I hope you are inspired by my cards today! Your next stop on the hop is Jung AhSang.
Giveaway:
Don't forget to leave a comment here on my post for a chance to win a $20 GC at Altenew. I will announce the winner right here by 12/6/2018.

Edited for winner:
And the winner is...

My favorite is the pink poppies embossed with the die cut. Beautiful!
