Altenew March 2020 PAF: Iris, Watercolor Essential Set, Watercolor Papers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway + Video!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my stop on the Bloghop celebrating the release of the  PAF: Iris, Watercolor Essential Set, and Watercolor Papers from Altenew.

I am so thrilled with all of these new products!! The papers are the high quality you've come to know from Altenew and the PAF outlined Iris stamp set is so beautiful! The new Watercolor Essentials set has 12 colors we all love to mix and create with!
Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set

I had the pleasure of creating with the new watercolor papers along with the new 12 pan Essentials set. The Paint-A-Flower: Iris was an great set to test both papers and colors. The Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set colors are vibrant, smooth, and mix beautifully!

I have made 4 cards for today's post.

Below you can see several of the Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set colors on the new Watercolor Paper Pad (9"x12")...100% cotton 300lbs/gm, Cold Pressed. This paper has tooth on both sides and didn't show any signs of pilling after working with it.
After creating a rainbow BG, I heat embossed the PAF:Iris with Antique Gold EP.

Watercolor Paper Set (A2 loose sheets) is smooth on both sides, and bright white. 50% cotton, Cold Pressed, 140lbs 300g/m this A2 sized paper works differently than the 100% cotton paper PAD. I liked how easily the pigment moves on this paper.
For this next card, I sloshed color from the new Essentials 12 pan set on my stamping mat then smooshed the paper for a quick background. then I stamped the Iris several times with crisp inks and added some loose watercoloring for more definition.

For the next two cards I wanted to compare side by side how the new Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set works on the two different Watercolor papers, All of these new produces are in the Wonderful Watercolor Full Release Bundle.

**Video is HERE**

Check out my Video sharing my first impressions of the Watercolor Full Release Bundle.  Watercoloring the two cards above.

I just love this stamp set. It's complicated and forces one to really think about how an iris is constructed. Your coloring really highlights how complex an iris is built. Beautifully done. I have two other iris stamps and neither holds a candle to Altenew's iris. Thank you for sharing your projects. Staying home, crafting and staying safe. Stay safe :)

Beautiful cards! But besides that, I REALLY appreciate the pointers you gave about the papers. I have fallen in love with watercolor, but I am definitely a beginner. May God richly bless you and keep you all safe and healthy!
